Things will never be the same in America from this moment forward. When 66-year-old James Hodgkinson attempted to gun down as many Republican members of Congress as possible at a baseball field in Virginia, he permanently shattered the notion that we could go back to the way that things used to be in this country. At one time, Republicans and Democrats may have strongly disagreed with one another over the issues, but there was always a certain code of civility that everyone understood and respected. But now that is long gone, and if our politicians and the big media outlets continue to fuel the rising hatred in this country, it won’t be too long before we are dealing with widespread chaos and civil unrest from coast to coast.
Most of the anger and frustration that we are currently witnessing is being fueled by the left. On his radio show yesterday, Rush Limbaugh accused the left of openly promoting violence…
“I have been worried for quite a while about the cumulative effect or impact of this constant anti-Trump hysteria everywhere in mainstream media: New York Times, Washington Post, LA Times, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC,” Limbaugh told listeners.
“It’s hysteria. It’s lies. It’s things that are completely manufactured about Trump personally, about Trump and Russia, about climate change, about any number of things.
“I have been very concerned about what all of this is doing to the average, base Democrat voter. I have sensed them getting more and more fringe and imbalanced, and the evidence for it is everywhere in the things that they tweet. They openly promote violence, and advocate some of the most despicable things happening to their political enemies.”
Someone like James Hodgkinson is not produced in a vacuum. There has been a steady pattern...

Here’s the problem with any leftist concept of a civil war: conservatives in the small towns and rural areas control the nation’s resources, the food, oil, natural gas. NYC, Boston, LA, Chicago, Philadelphia, DC, wouldn’t last long without food and fuel. A week without these essential goods and the urban dwellers would be cannibalizing each other just to survive.

That dirtbag Hogkins, for two months, gathered info for his killing scenario. He knew or should have known there would be security personal nearby. That info was in the NY Times!
A smart assassin, would have ID'ed those assets day one. Take them out first and everyone nearby is dead! Being a true non-thinking lib the dirtbag was just consumed by hate. That is the condition most libs are in perpetually HATE, HATE, HATE!

From what I understand, if Scalise had not been there, NO protection would have been there. Congressman need to be defending themselves. More bodyguards will insulated from the public and make them even more out of touch.

Seems to me the violence started last summer when candidate Trump was showing strength and Her Heinous, weakness. They were scared.
Their thugs disrupted political rallies and assaulted citizens like us while police stood by, and their leaders blamed it on his “hateful rhetoric”.
The violence escalated to aggravated battery after the election when the weather warmed up. Now they are taking lives and their leaders still blame President Trump. They aren’t sane. If you aren’t armed, arm yourself.
The solution isn’t more bodyguards.
The VA has to have their own armed police. The natural continuation of that is that the VA employees threaten the Veterans with the VA police.
I had a medical appointment with a VA healthcare provider and the first thing she did when I walked into the exam room was to show me her emergency police call button on her desk.
The threat was clear. Obey me, or I’ll bring in my helper with the gun.
I agree that bodyguards would just make our elected officials more unresponsive to us.
