Here is the applicable section of the Code of Federal Regulations. Seems quite clear to me that he is obligated to recuse himself. OTOH, that should have been obvious before he was selected for the position.

Read it yourself.

28 CFR 45.2 - Disqualification arising from personal or political relationship.

Trump really should but conflict of interest only applies to Republicans when it comes to the swamp in DC.

The media will continue to ignore the conflicts of interest between Mueller and Comey as if they don’t even exist.

If Mueller refuses to recuse then fire for misconduct.

Where and to whom should we voice our complaints because Greg Jarrett is absolutely correct.

I think Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein is the only one who can fire Mueller.

Thanks for posting Greg Jarrett news. I've disconnected cable so FR keeps me informed. He stands out as a serious, thoughtful reporter on the legal beat. Glad Fox is still employing him.

Robert Mueller is personal friends with James Comey who is known to have leaked gov’t information (crime), to have made up a memo (crime) that he passes off as Donald Trump committing some criminal act then he destroys said memo without anyone actually seeing the whole memo (crime).
His actions have resulted in millions of dollars being spent chasing a wild goose (crime). Meanwhile he passes on arresting Hillary Clinton for the treasonous acts she has committed.

Why has the personal friend of Robert Mueller not been arrested?

Donald Trump should publicly ask that Comey be arrested by Robert Mueller and when he does not arrest him then fire him.

If the Congress impeaches a President on falsified charges is the President obligated to go? If he refused, claiming Congressional illegitimacy, how would Congress physically remove him? It’s similar to the battle Jackson had with the Supreme Court. In a 3 co-equal branches of government system like ours I see the Court siding with the Congress in a “rule of law” opinion despite the Special Counsel issue. But I could be wrong, they could find the whole Special Counsel law unconstitutional since the Congress has declined to do their duty, shifting it to the Attorney General to do. Which is strange given the AG is in the Executive Branch. Hopefully it doesn’t come down to answering these issues.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Mueller does resign due to the conflict.

But don’t expect whomever Rosenstein replaces him with to be any better or any less committed to using the Special Counsel’s office as a fishing expedition to investigation all of Trump’s businesses and other activities to find something, anything to base a Dem/GOPe impeachment effort on.

"Demand" is too weak. Trump should "hope" that Mueller quit.

Exactly!....Comey is at the center of this and Comey and Muller are best friends

The problem is their are daring Trump to fire Muller ....

Trump need to bypass the political ramifications of firing Muller..by going to a judge or even the Supreme Court and making the case that Muller clearly must Resign because of his conflict of interest under the special prosecutor law ...let the Courts take the political out of this

Yes I know it clear that Trump should Muller if Muller will not remove himself... but that the Political trap that has been set ..You get another cry of obstruction of Justice if you fire Muller just like firing Comey

We have three coequal branches, Legislative, Executive and Judicial ... Trump HAS got to go to the Third branch the Supreme Court to end this... else anything Trump does himself to stop the witch hunt will made out as obstruction...its a political issue and that the only political play

Trump (and his administration) should keep doing the things we elected him to do (jobs, immigration, ISIS, etc). I know he can do multiple things at once but lay off this one (directly).

EVERY SINGLE Republican outside the administration should be demanding that Mueller quits at every opportunity. Every session of congress should start with a reading of Mueller’s conflicts of interest. And any R who gets a TV interview should mention it.

Unfortunately, OUR main representative in DC has almost no allies. Besides Mueller, there are many other areas of D obstruction and delay that Rs should be talking about loudly and often. But they seem to care more about Schumer’s warnings than what Trump voters want.

If Mueller doesn’t follow the law and recuse himself, then Trump supporters no longer have to follow any law out of Thievington, DC.

I agree that Trump should quickly and forcefully end this nonsense, at least within the executive branch, where he has full authority as POTUS to do so.

The risk he takes, if any, is that he could conceivably be overridden by the other two branches. If enough of the legislature turns against him he can be impeached by the House and removed by the Senate.

Republicans have nominal control of both chambers but with confused a-holes like McCain, etc. I don’t think it’s safe to take anything for granted.

I’m confident the courts will NOT have his back if the matter gets thrown in their hands.

The sad thing is that EVERYONE in both parties, in all three branches, in the MSM and in Acedemia knows perfectly well this is a nothing but a political witch hunt and yet they continue to dishonor themselves by pretending it’s not.

Mueller has a reputation for honesty and integrity.

Lol, the fact that Mueller accepted this SC position, with such a glaring conflict of interest, eliminates any claim of having integrity.

President Trump needs to add Jarrett to his legal team.
He’s right up there with Jay Sekulow.
Disappointed in Napolitano recently, however.

BTW, the mere fact that Mueller was/is Comey’s mentor should automatically disqualify Mueller.
It’s a shame that President Trump has been and continues to be so undermined by his own Justice Department. I am extremely appalled by Jeff Sessions’ betrayals
Moreover, how did Rosenstein wind up as the deputy AG???
The entire DOJ ought to be DRAINED ASAP!!! Should have been ordered on day one!!!

Every Republican in Congress should be demanding Mueller’s recusal. Trump can’t make any serious demand without their support, and they know it. Weasels.
