Here is the applicable section of the Code of Federal Regulations. Seems quite clear to me that he is obligated to recuse himself. OTOH, that should have been obvious before he was selected for the position.

There is wiggle room: “Whether relationships (including friendships) of an employee to other persons or organizations are “personal” must be judged on an individual basis with due regard given to the subjective opinion of the employee.”

I lay all of this charade of an investigation and political witch hunt at the feet of the Attorney General, Jeff Sessions.

He should have already fired McCabe and reminded Rosenstein what the Code of Federal Regulations has to say regarding a special counsel having a conflict of interest when they are investigating a personal friend, and then fired him too.

Between the conflict of interest and the leaking from those associated with the special counsel to the media, there is no reason on God’s green earth the AG should not IMMEDIATELY shut down the Deep State’s attempt to destroy the president of the United States
