The special counsel overseeing the investigation into Russia’s role in the 2016 election is interviewing senior intelligence officials as part of a widening probe that now includes an examination of whether President Trump attempted to obstruct justice, officials said.
The move by Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III to investigate Trump’s own conduct marks a major turning point in the nearly year-old FBI investigation, which until recently focused on Russian meddling during the presidential campaign and on whether there was any coordination between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin. Investigators have also been looking for any evidence of possible financial crimes among Trump associates, officials said.
Special counsel has a few members that would know this so I say fire them all for leaking. 2 can play this game
We don't know if the leaks came from the special counsel. We don't even know if it is a real leak. Maybe it's disinformation from one of WaPo's spies, or WaPo made it up.

Trump was really a third party candidate and the GOP is not defending him with remotely the ferocity the Dems are attacking; plus Paul Ryan puts the knife in whenever he can. Only Trump's base who voted him in can stand against this slow rolling coup.

It’s either fake or a leak. If it’s a leak, the only sources are Rosenstein and Camp Mueller, and I can picture Camp Mueller keeping Rosenstein out of the loop - after all, Camp Mueller is independent.

Sure but they could not have done it without the full support of GOP leadership support.
We really have no clue how many Republicans are are deep government. Anyone not suspicious of Sessions recusal that allowed his chosen second in command to appoint a special council is too trusting. How would this have gone any different if the Democrats had the majority?
