As the millennial generation ages, much research has been done in an attempt to figure out their worldview. Companies have dedicated millions in marketing dollars to study the group, hoping to find the key that opens their wallets.

Of course, it’s not just millennial spending habits that have garnered attention. As these young Americans move further into adulthood, they will also become a stronger political force. As such, political parties and politicians have become increasingly interested in appealing to the growing voter bloc. After all, it won’t be long until the millennial generation is the most influential in the country.

While this shift in generational power is inevitable, signs are starting to emerge that paint a troubling picture of millennial belief systems. Despite the fact that millennials are on track to be the most well educated generation in American history, formal schooling could be failing them.

For proof, look no further than the generation’s attitude toward socialism. When polled, nearly half of millennials say they would vote for a socialist candidate. As troubling as that may sound, consider that most millennials don’t even understand what socialism is. When the words of the survey are changed to “government-managed economy,” only 32 percent of millennials express their support.

However, it’s not just their lack of understanding regarding basic concepts that have some worried. Millennials have shown an increasing willingness to use government to enforce their vision of “social justice.”

In fact, it’s gotten so bad, that nearly half of all millennials support removing children from homes that don’t support transgender transitioning.

On Monday, Whatsgoodly released the results of a poll regarding the views of millennials on a crucial issue of governmental intrusion: do young Americans believe that the government should “remove children from homes where the parents refuse to provide resources for gender transition?”

The results are stunning. Fully 18 percent of the 1,402 respondents answered yes; another 27 percent said they were unsure. Among female respondents, a majority stated that children should either be removed from the home (21 percent), or they were unsure (33 percent). A whopping 60 percent of Clinton voters felt the same way; just seven percent of those who voted for Trump said yes, and 15 percent said they were unsure. Among self-described liberals, 47 percent said they were either in favor of government removal (10 percent) or unsure about it (37 percent).

This is a tad misleading. In what universe is fully 18 percent a majority?
