First Female Presidential Helicopter Pilot Fired Over Assault Arrest

Jonah Bennett National Security/Politics Reporter 5:15 PM 06/07/2017

The first female presidential helicopter pilot has been fired from command of her current squadron after she declined to report to her chain of command that she was arrested for assault.

Marine Corps Lt. Col. Jennifer Grieves, who served as the first female officer to command Marine One in 2009, was removed from command of Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 464, “due to a loss of trust and confidence in her ability to continue to lead,” Task & Purpose reported Wednesday.

She assumed command of HMH-464 in May 2015, according to her Marine Corps biography.

Grieves was arrested in December and charged with simple assault over a domestic dispute, while she was at her home in Sneads Ferry, N.C. Although she was released on $500 bail, the charge is still pending. Grieves never reported the incident, and now she has lost command and will be reassigned elsewhere within II Marine Expeditionary Force.

Grieves gained a certain amount of fame when ABC News proclaimed her “person of the week” after she finished serving in a year-long post as pilot of Marine One during the Obama administration. She served with an all-female crew in her last flight on the job.

Yeah, but I can see it from her perspective too.

Who'd ever think that with the kind of job she has anybody would pay any attention these hyjinks?

She probably figured she'd just fly below the radar so to speak.

Geez!

FWIW, I saw on the cable guide that the H&I channel is showing the pilot of the Black Sheep Squadron at 6PM (on my system).

Lesbians have higher dv rates than normal couples. Most cops will tell you too that is their experience.

Equal opportunity lesbo, I’d say. Lots of promotions during the fag nobama administration I’d bet.

But, of course, it will be Trump’s war on women that got her fired. /s

Failure to report an arrest usually results in suspension of the arrestee’s security clearance and, for pilots, leads to being grounded.

One can lie by omission which is what this sorry excuse for a Marine did to II MEF.

yeah, that’s a secret of the military. They treat you like an animal and restrict what you eat and tell you what to do and train and train- but you know what? You end up looking fabulous

Worked for me :)

Easy to see why she'd be temporarily relived of command while the charges were pending. If convicted she'd face further discipline,if not she'd be restored to her original duty.

Although I've never ran afoul of the UCMJ *or* civilian law it's easy to see how her failure to report the arrest to superiors would result in severe discipline.

...yet We The People will STILL be paying her retirement (as a Lt. Col!) until the day she sheds her mortal coil...

Not necessarily.Although I never ran afoul of the UCMJ and, therefore.don't have a strong familiarity with it it seems as if she might be subject to court martial and possible loss of all pay and benefits.

Of course ILLary would have made certain that that wouldn't happen but I suspect DJT is less taken with perverts in the Armed Forces.

"She should just claim that she identifies as a muslim male and that wife beating is one of her required religious duties."

An insane comment but in the world of political correctness very valid. I am most amused.

In a serious comment one will find that gays and transsexuals have a far higher incident of mental instability. It is just plain damn statistics. Some of those gays and transexuals are great warriors. When recruiting for soldiers and sailers and airmen all of their qualities must be evaluated in reference to becoming a sound and stable warrior.

Lt. Col; she should have known that every Marine is supposed to report any interaction with civilian police

Yeah, failed big time. As a CO, she of all people should know better. Domestic assault is not going to look good on the resume.

“It was her wife. Saw it in the local paper.”

In such a “marriage” are they both wives or does one register as the husband?

“Domestic assault is not going to look good on the resume. “ I suspect this would have never came to light except the assaulted one reported it all and then tried to destroy her his it’s wife. They are vicious.

Dated one once while she was playing straight. One must be very careful!!! Actually when she came out as playing both sides it was rather pleasant. We all had an agreement on how it was played but not all together! I rather regret that part but the other was a surgeon and rather bull. I rather feared her. Her job was cutting. Norway was great circa 1977. I got out alive with all body parts intact.

“laissez le bon temps rouler” Let the good times roll!
