Tell that to Martha Stewart, who was cleared of any wrongdoing, but was prosecuted for perjury by none other than United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York James B. Comey.

I know the case, in some detail, and I read probably 95% of the court filings in the Scooter Libby case. Both cases stand for the proposition I stated, perjury is tough to prove.
The fact that some people are charged and convicted for the offense doesn't mean the offense is easy to prove. And I have no patience with the argument that there must be an underlying offense before perjury can occur, or before perjury should be charged.

Comey had to be forthcoming and had no opening to attack Trump because Jeff Sessions has all the goods after raiding his office while he was in California and watching the news about his being fired.
If I was Comey, I would hire a dozen body guards and make sure none of them formerly lived in Arkansas.

Comey doesn’t seem mentally stable in my opinion.
