Warning! Please do not show this Salon article to your liberal acquaintances. It could cause severe, irreversible depression in them.
The reason why the May 27 article by Salon's executive editor, Andrew O'Hehir, could be so horribly depressing for them is that it tells several highly unwelcome truths that burst liberal fantasies. The fact that this unwelcome news for Democrats appears in leftist Salon just adds to the credibility of the article whose very depressing title must make liberals want reach for the Prozac, Wake up, liberals: There will be no 2018 blue wave, no Democratic majority and no impeachment:

Maybe, but there’s another factor at work in some areas of the country. Most of the RINOs in my area are representing districts that Hillary Clinton won in 2016, so they are not really strong GOP districts in the first place. If these guys lose to conservative challengers in a primary, the GOP will lose the seats by an even wider margin.
Yeah, probably shock therapy (tazers) and lobotomies.
“...perhaps I should let liberals know when there are Prozac coupons available. “
They have coupons for that?
If you were truly kind, you’d send them to the razor blade aisle.
2018 is a long time from now.
Anything can happen and usually does.
If the Repubs keep stabbing Trump in the back, you can be assured that there will be low turnout in 2018 and it won’t be the Dems.
Read that yesterday and it was based in reality...
If the damn Republicans in Congress don’t start producing, it well could be a blue wave in 2018.
Heroin? Pfft! They are going to need Covfefe.
“But on the bright side theyre still able to lie, encourage violence, blame their problems on Russia, try to silence other opinions, and generally express rage and hatred.”
For now. 2018 will be here quick enough. And, GOOD! :)
I like to make them aware of the top 10 suicide bridges.
What a country!
The executive editor of Salon is saying that their 2020 Presidential candidate will have to lie to both factions of their party to win.
In the face of a national emergency, maybe Democrats will find some medium-term way to bridge the gulf between pro-business liberal coalition politics and a social-democratic vision of major structural reform and economic justice. Whoever the hell they nominate for president in 2020 will have to pretend to do that, at any rate. That's another Republican win before the Stupid Democrats even get started.
I can’t pinpoint when the change happened but we the people are now being ruled and not governed. We elect rulers now.
They were violent, crazy, depressed and on drugs the whole time obama was president. Isn’t that really telling?
The repubs only survive at all because the DIMS are somewhat worse. The repubs are continuing to be traitors to their electorate.
“As a humanitarian gesture perhaps I should let liberals know when there are Prozac coupons available. “
NO! Offer them top floor open windows of which they can jump.
