The Democrat-controlled Illinois House approved protections for illegal immigrants, made voter registration automatic for state residents, and passed more severe punishments for gun crimes Tuesday, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Senate President and Democrat John Cullerton, who supported the immigration bill in the Senate, said it will “provide stability” for Illinois’ estimated half-million illegal immigrants by preventing state and local law enforcement from arresting them. Democratic legislators admit the measure is a direct response to President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown, which they say has caused Illinois communities to “live in fear.”

I said I have blamed most of problems on Democrats, but this one is on HIM!!! Said I will not vote for him if he signs 1933 and no wonder people are leaving. I will be too when spouse retires.

I heard the supposedly “good” amendments made it palatable for the republicans; but nothing in bill or amendments about checking citizenship for voting in presidential elections.
Also, no one could tell me if illegals can vote in state or local elections.

Interesting how first a number of states allowed for motor voter registration where a person could choose to register to vote at DMV and perhaps other state agencies...

This UNANIMOUSLY PASSED in the Illinois House and in the Senate 6 out of 22 GOP Senators voted for it :(
They officially have the worst credit rating in the nation and own billions and billions in unpaid bills.

Rauner vetoed this last year, I can’t imagine why he apparently is gonna sign it this time.
May as well cut his own **** off as add a bajillion more democrats to the rolls.
Rauner will probably sign that bill because he thinks that will help him get more votes from independent and moderate voters.
It not only won’t get him more votes from the left, it will cost him big time with those that voted for him in 2014.

However, in meantime, need to pressure Rauner to not vote for this traitorous bill!!! IF this gets signed, it will be harder than ever to get a true conservative elected.

Phil, I didn’t know you moved to Vegas. How do you like it out there?
As I recall only 1 GOP State Senator voted against in-state tuition for “Dreamers”.
Last year when this passed it was also overwhelming, beyond veto override level in the House and 50-7 in the Senate but Rauner flexed some muscle and got the House to fail to override.
And I guess they fixed whatever minor problems Rauner had with it. 115-0 in the House, damn.
