Democrat Alderman Wants The Elderly To GET OUT Of His City [WATCH]

Yesterday a video of a Manchester, New Hampshire Committee meeting was posted to YouTube. The meeting took place on May 24th but there was extremely disturbing and interesting commentary made by a Manchester Alderman. Apparently, the topic was property taxes and tax credits for the elderly. The meeting was a Joint Committee Meeting on Education. Education being the largest chunk of expense for any property taxes.

"I’ve got an 85 year old woman that lives across the street, and, and she won’t give up her house, she’s sitting on $350,000 dollars and she can’t afford it anymore and you’re saying (pointing to Alderwoman Shaw) give her a tax credit….NO, we should have a program that GETS HER OUT OF THE HOUSE….. I mean, we need to get new people to come in and, and, ‘occupy’ those houses. We can’t be run by the elderly in a city…that, that, that’s foolishness."

To: The people have spoken

Elderly on fixed incomes can’t afford increases in property taxes—they have no vote no on these increases or start eating dog food.

The “compassionate” liberals know what they would prefer!

But being run nationally by geriatric lunatics like Waters (pushing 80), Feinstein (pulling 80), Sanders (pushing 80), McCain (80, but he’s a war hero so he gets to stay until he’s 200), and all the others in the National Flaccid Arms Congressional Rest Home, is A-OK. And, of course, when this idiot hits 80, still in office, it will be fine.

This is already starting to happen as well in California, where the population that benefits from Prop 13, passes in 1978, is also elderly, but it’s okay to target them because they caused the recession.

What a heartless bastard. His spot is reserved in hell for eternity.

Even if the elderly person sold the house at 20% more than it was worth, he or she still has to live somewhere, and if they are anything like me they have too much ‘stuff’ to move easily which will take some doing. Selling some off is an option but also a lot of hard work.

In AZ we allow anyone over 64 to freeze their property tax rate. The smart person will catch it at its lowest. It’s only fair. Most people are retired by 65 so their income is set for the most part. It will never keep up with true inflation and unlike working people who will get promotions and raises if they work hard at a decent job or their own business will grow; retired people are stuck. This should be done nationwide or some other similar program for those on fixed retirement incomes.

He’s just stating what they all think: get rid of the old (White) people and replace them with young fertile members of a government-certified victim group who will vote dem and send money to dems.

Indigent elderly who built your world.

Tell that to the families with kids who can't afford a house due to the high property taxes, while seniors get tax breaks so high they no longer have any skin in the game. I've got geezers, too, ya know. And I love them dearly. But buying their votes with OPM is rotten public policy.

It’s not “inappropriate” to give an 85 yr old residential property owner citizen a property tax break, if the citizens so vote.

The cruel fact is that after 65, when the taxes keep going up, there is just no way to earn extra income to pay them and eventually the govt takes the home you may think you “own” free and clear

Then where does she go? Govt subsidized senior housing or govt subsidized nursing home - paid for by taxpayers

But giving ILLEGAL immigrants Earned Income Tax breaks, no problem. Sending BILLIONS of dollars to imaginary children in Mexico, no problem. Spending local property taxes on ILLEGAL immigrant programs, no problem.

“F” you Democrats.

Up until a few years ago, in Delaware, seniors got $1,000 credit on property taxes. Then, the Democrats cut it in half. Now, the Democrats want another $200 to spend. No spending “cuts”, just take from the elderly.

Democrats war on the elderly.

My 95 year old mom is vital and healthy and I believe will enjoy her life for several more years. This guy is a monster.

It’s interesting to watch the video and see how this guy has no clue that he’s saying anything controversial or disturbing. It’s all so obvious and reasonable to him, no different than if he’s saying people should close their windows when it’s raining. He’s a monster.

But, but, in New Hampshire, I thought there was no political solution that could go forward if it did not include building more bike-paths...

Since we're talking about grandma here, and no one could reasonably expect all of them to be able to get in shape enough to bicycle into town from out in the boonies to get groceries, it would need be wide enough for golf carts two abreast...and four-wheel drive carts for when it's snowy and iced over, and little snowplows to clear the way, and charging stations(!) --- don't forget the electric vehicle charging stations(!)

There's none of that kind of thing, not enough of that kind of thing already 'out in the country' where grandma has gotta' go, is there? Think of the costs, man.

Figure it out, Christopher Herbert, and you could send in young people to "occupy" old people's houses to your heart's content? Would it be cost effective though? What's the bottom line? Government must be run like a (Bigly?) business? Profits first woops! I mean Tax Revenues first, then people, and grandma & grandpa near to last. Sounds like a plan. Social Justice (and Environmental, don't forget Environmental "Justice") at last!

Three Dog Night
Out In the Country

Whenever I need to
leave it all behind
Or feel the need
to get away
I find a quiet place,
far from the human race
Out in the country

Spot on the elderly are taxed for many things they never use proof you can’t reason with a democrat.

No compassion.

Those young families with kids, eagerly vote for ever higher taxes. They hope one day the Big State will give them something free of value.

They choose their suffering.
