Friday at the Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce in Irving, TX, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said some President Donald Trump political problems were self-inflicted.
Cruz said, What Im trying to do is just ignore the circus.

We basically have three political movements in this country:
1. Globalists (the mainstream GOP and many Democrats)
2. Marxists (Bernie Sanders supporters)
3. Nationalists (Trump supporters of all political affiliations, plus the "paleoconservative" wing of the GOP)
It's that simple. Which side are all of you on?
I wish our guys would rally around Trump with enthusiasm. Leave criticism for closed doors.
Exactly!
He's also the first political candidate -- at any level of government -- who I've supported financially.
No offense, but you can take your "NeverTrumper" sh!t and stick it up your @ss.
Very well put!
The reason this is happening is because we are not lemmings and do not participate in activism like our opponents on the left. They know how to mobilize and are not afraid. This is partly because we don’t look to specific leaders. Look at the TEA party.
Until we fight back this will be the norm. I attribute this to the PC culture we have. We are afraid of being labeled, meanwhile the left hides behind it. We swung so far to the left socially that in order to get back to a semblance of normalcy we will have to go far to the right. This is what the establishment and the left are trying to prevent.
As for President Trump, he needs to ignore the Washington/East coast establishment and keep signing executive orders that rip the left apart. He also needs to meet with TEA party type organizations to get candidates for 2018 and beyond who will primary the establishment. In addition he needs to start working with local religious organizations to take our institutions of learning back from the left.
“I don’t know why anyone would give Cruz any grief over this statement. Like it or not, he’s right about this. “
Because the last thing Trump needs is another republican publicly criticizing him. No doubt Cruz is correct but providing more MSM ammo is
a more then a bit disloyal and perhaps self serving. Instead defending the President the way the Rats would surely do the GOP is anxious to throw rocks at him from the sidelines.
If he said that Trump cause some of the damage because he trusted some of the Swamp Dwellers, then I’d agree. But the video doesn’t go into detail, why he blamed Trump.
Cruz also praises Mueller’s selection 1) Ignores Mueller’s friendship with Comey, who is now part of the investigation, 2) the fact that Mueller as FBI director did nothing about the IRS going after conservatives, 3) Mueller took out Muslim words in the FBI training materials and 4) that Mueller’s company represented Paul Manafort and Jared Kushner and his appointment is a violation of ethics rules.

We need to primary out as many of them as we can in 2018.
Our side is always buying into the media narrative. That is what gives them so much power. Without accepting the premise they would not have that power.
Not yours....of that I’m sure
This country’s problems are not going to be solved by elections.
This is the right answer, even for those who don’t want to admit it. Nothing will change until Trump learns more self discipline, something he IS very much capable of doing when he wants to. Stop contradicting your own spokespeople, the day after or the hour after they speak out trying to defend you, is another.
This most recently happened with McMasters. Before that, with VP Pence.
Hopefully, the press briefings will be greatly reduced in frequency or straight out cancelled except for special events. Hopefully, more poisonous NeverTrumpers on Trumps staff will be weeded out. Don’t just talk about it, do it.
The destroy-Trump media is one of five powerful forces aligned against the president. They are joined by the destroy-Trump Democrats, the Washington deep state establishment, weak, establishment Republicans and never-Trumpers. These groups are working together in an unprecedented attack against a sitting president. - Sean Hannity
It’s good to know what side Ted Cruz is on. Once a never-Trumper. Always a never-Trumper.

Having some level-headed FReepers on his staff would do him good. Excellent post!
The same could be said about Ted Cruz. Most of his troubles have been self inflicted.
His poor popularity numbers are proof. Probably best to not throw stones when living in glass houses.
That said, it appears that problem is common in the swamp.
You nailed it so perfectly. And I agree, I don’t know why people choose to continue the Cruz bashing as what he said is true. Some of the wounds are self-inflicted.
I’m a Proud Member of #3 on your list. :)
I would say the election 2016 solved a lot of problems, but President Trump will need more support than he’s getting from the RINOs infiltrating the GOP. I’m hoping he gets it in 2018.
The Canadian born senator is right in this instance. Surrounding yourself with people like priebus, kushner and Ivanka guarantees you won’t be able to get traction. Keeping DACA and “the worst trade deal in history” and keeping so many Obama holdovers are not small matters.
