There are lots of people that profit from fleecing the gullible. Doesn’t mean they aren’t scams.
Then the twits ought to go out and do the weeding that needs to be done. Real farmers grow an additional close ground crop to keep weeds down

Either hire more labor to do it manually, get the equipment to do it mechanically, or spray. Or downsize the operation to something that can be handled with the personnel available.
Don't like Monsanto? Try Bayer. After all, Monsanto won't be around much longer.

Yeah, I’ve seen the same thing.
Ever eaten a thistle? With really heavy gloves and a good knife, flick or peel the prickles off and you have a great vegetable if you catch it before the flowers open. Really good eating.
Almost every invasive plant or animal got here because government bureaucrats know best. The best way to eliminate something is to find a use for it, like food. I’d like to feed a few thistles to the county officials, without the prickles removed.
Id like round up on my food to be a personal choice.
The deal hasn’t closed yet. Bayer is still waiting for final regulatory approval. And the Monsanto shareholders are still waiting for their money.
It’s the only way to be sure.

A 900 sq ft garden is 30 ft by 30ft. Do some hoeing every day for about 15 minutes and you’d never have a weed problem.
Admit it. When you had “arm load after arm load” of weeds to pull, you had ignored the weed problem for a couple of weeks. Do that and you’ll pay, as you did. And I speak from experience. The armload experience, not the hoeing experience. It’s just too easy to ignore the weeds until it’s too late.
As for that organic farm, if they can’t keep the noxious weeds out of 2000 acres then they need to change their practices or reduce their farmed acreage. There are noxious weed laws for a reason, although around my area Roundup Ready corn and soybeans have made the weed laws less important, for now anyway.
It also sounds like that organic farm is wasting tons of topsoil with poor farming practices too. Just because they’re using organic methods doesn’t mean they’re treating their land with respect.

Sounds like they need to spray the farmers with Prozac!
I have eaten thistle stems. After stripping the outer layer the inside is juicy and not at all woody or stringy. Like celery only better. Thistle seed is a major source of food for birds.
