Azure Farm, a Certified Organic farm in Central Oregon, is under threat from the local county government who wants to spray Azure's Certified Organic farm with herbicides like Roundup (Glyphosate). Here's what you can do to help. Contact Sherman County court via email at lhernandez@co.sherman.or.us or call Lauren at 541-565-3416 and express your concern. See azurestandard.com/healthy-living/info/azure-farm-moro/ for more details.

An Certified...
or
A Certified?
The actual title is: “An Organic Farm Under Threat” TimeofReason added the “Certified” without correcting the indefinite article. Bad Freeper!
Sorry, Forgot the winky face. ;-)
Nuke the ‘farm’ from orbit!
“Nuke the farm from orbit!” Use glyphosate at 36% straight undiluted solution only way to be sure ... weeds are evil - a weed is any unwanted plant.
Are they going to spray the entire county or is this one farm being singled out? I would like to know why they are doing this. Does this farm have a problem with these noxious weeds that they aren’t addressing?
It's airhead liberal Oregon. It's the only way to be sure.
I my roundup like my 2-cycle oil...50-1. That will kill er’.

The county’s got to spend the collected weed taxes. Don’t agree with it but on the books and taxpayers pay it.
And he can take them to court for ruining his ‘organic’ business- He should immediately declare he is gay- that way the gubmint would’;t dare do this to him
Let me note first I’m no farmer, non the less let’s consider...
If they plowed the crops under and let the feilds go fallow (wild), there would certainly be more “noxious” weeds, but very likely no requirement to take any action pertaining to the weeds what so ever.
Cultivate the feilds organically, presumably with far fewer weeds than the fallow field, but the county will enter onto your property, destroy your business model and lien the property.
...ain’t government grand.
Just load barrels of glyphosate - straight for the chemical plant that produced it - into a crop duster and ‘dust’ away ... presto-chango all the weeds are dead ... incidental casualties like food crops are to be expected ... the price of progress and all that.
Pull the damn weeds. A strong solution of soaked chewing tobacco can kill aphids
In my youth, I used to walk beans. We were given machetes made out of old lawnmower blades and told to chop them close to the ground and spade out the small ones with the flat ends of the blades. With all that illegal alien labor there, it should be no problem to clear that field.
Later on, they started using the “ bean limousine” method, where the youth would sit on the sprayer arms of a huge bean sprayer, and then with hand nozzles, spray each weed as they rolled by, a method that really reduced the amount of expensive herbicide needed and the total wages of the high school kids they hired.
Who says Americans won’t do some jobs?

Pull the Canadian Thistle and the gubmint won’t spray. Seems like an easy solution to me.
Husband now has a totally organic garden using only natural
pest & weed control. - Beautiful! - He used the “poison
route” for years, resistant to the organic route. - He
finally went over to the organic method and now we have a
great garden & orchard with tons of compost from 30 yrs. of
composting. - Sometimes the easiest way is the best way after all.
Round up on an organic farm??!! Jeez, what the hell are they thinking? Let’s get real. I would suggest Agent Orange instead.
