I encourage you to pick up and read the book that is driving this and the person primarily responsible for driving it. The liberty amendments by Mark Levin.

There is a misconception about COS. Only subjects stated in the application can be discussed discussed for Amendments.
Tgen,
If Amendments are proposed, they still must go through the regular Amendment process, which is difficult to win.
The current applications are to impose fiscal restraints, term limits, and other limits on federal overreach.
All subjects liberals are especially fond of.

We are in trouble because a whole huge bunch of “Americans” sold our manufacturing might to a massive communist country, China.

We run a HUGE trade deficit.

We need to bring back business, and manufacturing to America.

That is what we need. Not meddling like this.

Trump, you mentioned this when you ran. Where is it now?

I voted for you, for this, among other reasons.

A lot of people did.

Bring back American jobs. Bring back American manufacturing.

The Congress, whenever two thirds of both houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose amendments to this Constitution, or, on the application of the legislatures of two thirds of the several states, shall call a convention for proposing amendments , which, in either case, shall be valid to all intents and purposes, as part of this Constitution, when ratified by the legislatures of three fourths of the several states . . .

In other words, two-thirds (34) of the states pass an application for a convention to propose amendments, then the states choose their delegates, and whatever amendments are passed at that convention by the states still need to be ratified by the same process as any congressional amendment. Over the years, the states have enacted over 400 applications for a convention, but none has ever been called, because two-thirds of the states have never agreed on the subject matter for such a convention.

Levin lost all respect I had for him, with his opposition to Trump.

I do not trust the guy.

He should have supported Trump MUCH earlier. Him and Cruz, are all about selling out to foreigners.

This is now an ill-advised effort. America needs to bring back our own industry.

That is what we need. We need to make things.

Right in America, again.

A whole lot of things.

Everything, really.

Be very careful here. One of the main efforts of this grass root group is to make every effort to join with the other side of the aisle to accomplish the leashing of the federal government.

There are a couple of things wrong here. the first, and to me the most obvious, is trusting the left to make the effort to take the needed steps to even identify the problems. An example is the organizations that are attacking Trump as we speak. They know that the problems he is addressing are there, but the leaders of the lib party are telling lie after lie and they are not making the effort to investigate it and make the effort to fix them.

They know we are being infiltrated with illegals taking up jobs, school classroom space, buying autos and using the roadways and medical help for free as they pay no taxes and cause the cost of services to go up to cover their usage, committing crime to include violent ones and are being rewarded with sanctuary cities and officials misleading the ICE group trying to get them. Does this sound like they are making the effort to improve anything or create more of it?

Secondly, this organization is trying to sound like the tea party. Are you sure it is? I’m not. And the mouthpieces of the tea party like Paul Ryan have been not only bad mouthing Trump who is actually trying to correct some for the problems, but Ryan has been questioned on these boards as to his affiliation and what he is trying to accomplish. And so far, that’s a big fat nothing.

Don’t just think this is the answer to the problems the liberals have created and the conservatives have failed to identify and stop. It is nothing more than a shadow group trying to stall for time until the libs can get back in power and do more damage. This time with the states helping them while they are trusting them giving them more power than before as they will be delving into areas they do not need to while ignoring the ones they are stuck actually doing.

If you think the only thing broken is trade deficit and jobs (which isn’t really an issue if you knew what all made up the trade deficit) then we are already lost as a nation. This isn’t meddling as you call it. It is the framers putting in place a check on the Government by allowing the States to call together a convention putting an out of control federal Government in check and bringing power back to the people. It is much much more than just jobs and trade deficits. I could easily list 10 major items outside of hut jobs that isn’t being addressed or even spoken of by our President. I don’t blame him at all he is wonderful but he isn’t what is needed for the liberty amendements or saving the republic

They’re so much more principled than our founding fathers...

Founding fathers put the provision in Article V. The idea that states (as well as Congress) can propose Amendments doesn’t seem that far from original intent.

And yes, restoring the Senate to represent the states wouldn’t be all bad.

If you don’t think our trade deficit is a HUGE problem, you are part of the problem.

That is one of the biggest problems we have now.

Huge problem.

Both parties, are completely sold out to China.

Everyone, really.

For the entire last generation.

Agree. Let’s go back to Carter giving the Panama Canal away. Then China gets it. China has been drilling off both coasts for oil for years. Our elected quacks do zip. Bush and NAFTA. These folks are idiots who have sold us out.

"States are free to develop their own selection process for choosing their delegates—properly called “commissioners.” Historically, the most common method used was an election by a joint session of both houses of the state legislature." right today, most of the states and the their legislatures are republican.

Term limit federal judges too. One ten year term is plenty.

‘Liberals would go hog wild, with something like this.’

I toldally agree with you. You can say bye to the 2nd amendment. The dems will end up rigging the votes and the repubs will stand and watch them. Remember anything can be changed.

Do you fear an Article V Convention would impose fag marriage on society?

Perhaps a COS would mandate that local communities must educate illegal alien children?

Would a COS determine that congress can force you to purchase health insurance at exorbitant prices?

No people ever met to frame or reform their government in order to sell themselves into slavery.

OTOH, peoples have stood by while a tyranny enveloped them.

Liberals would go hog wild, with something like this.

Haven't you noticed that the liberals are going wild at the federal level?

Less centralized government power works best, to the state and to the people.
