While President Trump has talked tough in the past about his skeptical views on climate change, his administration appears to be taking a more cautious approach to the issue on the world stage in the early days of his presidency.

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson signed a document today calling climate change a “serious threat” to the Arctic and noting the need for action to reduce its potentially harmful effects.

The document, known as the Fairbanks Declaration, concluded Tillerson's chairing of a meeting of the Arctic Council, a board made up of indigenous groups and the eight countries bordering the Arctic, in Fairbanks, Alaska.

While the council only has the power to issue advisories, the language in the statement signed by Tillerson comes in stark contrast to statements and promises made by President Trump about climate change.

oh boy.
This will be used to hammer the administration into submission.
No Paris pull out.
I wonder if the influence comes from Pres. Trump’s family.

This is not in disagreement with Trump.

Of course climate changes....it has since the beginning of time.

It's the theory that MAN is causing it. That's what Trump says is a lot of cr**.

Bad sign. Look for a betrayal on the Paris “treaty”.

He never said climate change does not exist, he just said he couldn’t sign a treaty on climate change that disadvantages the US

Putting a ‘speed bump’ in front of the Russians who are attempting to take over the Arctic for its resources.

Climate change is a load of crap. Let’s see how far up and down the chain this goes and watch what Trump does with the Paris Accord. This will give us some hard answers about POTUS’ real political strength and the influence of the kids.

Not 100% sure. Sec Tillerson signed a document stating climate change is a ‘serious threat’ that noted the ‘need for action to reduce its potentially harmful effects’.

Since humans cannot control weather, what actions would he be agreeing to? Would assume the normal carbon footprint BS.

Ted Cruz was savaged on FR for suggesting that what Trump will do may not jibe what he was saying during the campaign. The examples are starting to grow.

LMAO

Ted Cruz is a great one to talk.

He said he was against Corker. He voted for it along with the Democrats.

He said he was against TPP and voted for TPA, something that had to become reality so the TPP could

Ted has always got his mouth in gear, but his follow through sucks.
