The foul stench of all those Democratic poodles congregating in such a confined space was overwhelming.
:: what should have been more appropriately called the Sycophants Supper ::
Which inclines us to realize that the WHCD was more a canonization of Obamugabe than a roast of DJT.
A proper roast is always done by the subject’s friends, who actually like and respect him. A roast of a Republican president by the people who hate him most, is unfunny and demeaning.
I briefly watched a correspondent’s dinner for GW, years ago, with Colbert doing the honors. It was vicious, it was not funny, and GW was forced to sit there being insulted and laugh and pretend it was funny. I haven’t watched one since, haven’t watched Colbert since, and I’m glad some president has finally said, I’m not playing. Colbert in particularly is a smarmy piece of detritus, I can’t figure out how he manages to make a living.
“urininalists” LOL! I just added it to my list of great insulting and accurate terms!!
Clip on youtube shows the ‘11 WHCA dinner and Seth Myers says, “sources say Trump may run for President as a Republican...but most people think he’s running as a joke.” Shot of an unamused Trump in the audience. Well...
..Donald Trump ally Roger Stone suggested Trump decided to run for president after the 2011 White House Correspondents’ Dinner
Stone, speaking in a new Frontline documentary, said Trump was ‘motivated’ by President Obama jabs during a comedy routine
(snip) As for Meyers?
‘I didn’t like his routine. He was too nasty, out of order,’ Trump said.
But some of Trump’s closest observers doubt that evening was much fun for the billionaire.
‘Donald dreads humiliation and he dreads shame,’ said Michael D’Antonio, who wrote ‘Never Enough: Donald Trump and the Pursuit of SucceSS
So how did this all turn out, lefties?
Trump didn’t get mad.
He got EVEN.
Your welcome. Then again, urinals provide a useful function whereas urinalists, not so much.
I’m happy, too, that President Trump told them to get bent. Journalists are Democrats, the enemy. That dinner was a nasty experience for Dubya. These people know they are hacks and they have been outed. It would have been jackals attacking a lion.
So it was like a wedding without a bride.
Most of us would be embarrassed to be associated with a fail like that, but these people do things that would make a murder of crows blush. They can continue to have their White House correspondents dinner—without the White House.
MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski: It’s ‘Our Job’ to ‘Control Exactly What People Think’
He's turning into Keith Olbermann before our eyes. Like Olbermann, his willingess to pander to the leftists against a GOP president initially got him very good numbers. Also like Olberman I predict that as he goes more into "foaming at the mouth, unhinged zealot" mode, his ratings will decline steadily. Nobody wants to watch a man's descent into madness on TV, not even most leftists.
Exhibit-A of what you’re describing would be a Dean Martin Roast of Ronald Reagan in Las Vegas; not as POTUS as of that moment, but either during or right after being Guvnah of California. It was hillarious, and still available on youtube.
Break it up? I believe the dinner went on as planned.
I hope each year on this date he holds either a campaign rally or a veterans’ fundraiser.
There is no reason he should ever show up at this thing.
