More one third of the firearms seized in February from the home of Pasadena Police Lt. Vasken Gourdikian cannot be sold to civilians by gun shops in California, according to a review of the list of weapons by this newspaper.
These handguns can only be purchased by law enforcement officers, or through a private party, because the models do not appear on Californias roster of guns approved for sale to the general public.
Agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives raided Gourdikians Sierra Madre home in February, taking away a total of 61 guns and gun parts, including at least 18 pistols that were off roster.

In some instances, ATF has discovered officers who purchased more than 100 off roster firearms that were subsequently transferred to non-law enforcement individuals, wrote Eric Harden, special agent in charge of the ATF in Los Angeles.
I'm confused. Why would the ATF care anything about weapons in CA that are off the state's approved list or "off roster"?
Regardless the source or how a dealer came by firearms, dealers cannot sell off-roster guns to non-LEO’s. Now, if your neighbor happens to be a LEO,he can sell you a off-roster gun in a private party sell and everybody is legal. BTW, that sale in CA would have to be thru a dealer.
The ATF running low on inventory they can sell to Mexican drug gangs?
Maybe a nice payday by Brown and his commies? Maybe the Lt missed a CPUSA donation?

If the BATF is going after a police officer, rest assured that the back story will be interesting...such as the officer turning down the ATF for some illegal gun-running operation that they requested, etc.

I've always heard that if you know how many guns you have, you don't have enough.
the list of weapons indicated he had several duplicates of off-roster pistols in his possession at the time of the raid, which some experts said could show an intent to sell.
Its still not known what crime investigators believe Gourdikian committed.
Though Gourdikian had 56 guns seized, not all necessarily relate to the crime being investigated, Michel said. Agencies sometimes pad their numbers by seizing an entire collection, he added.
What a crock. It looks like another seizure in search of a crime.
Just another day in the life of the American gun-owner...
...and my guess is that ‘Jason Henry’ probably wet himself in fear when he saw such a scary (military grade!) “arsenal”...
dealers cannot sell off-roster guns to non-LEOs.
I think they can do Consignment of off roster, or an estate sale. But that probably ends up being a ‘private party’ sale.
More and more guns that were on the roster are not being renewed by the manufacturers.
Pretty soon, the handgun population of CA will be static. Only existing in state guns to be sold via private party sales. Expect prices to go way up.
Police officers have long thought the ATF has always had an unhealthy interest in busting them for firearm violations. Don’t know why ATF does, but it seems to be true. Officers are allowed to buy firearms and ammunition not available to the public, but I don’t know if there is a law obliging them to get rid of them on retirement. Apparently the ATF SAC is trying to imply that this police LT. was selling or planning to sell his collection. Maybe he should instead be checking on obama’s and holder’s private collections and likely bulging private accounts from the sales to Mexico’s drug cartels.
Former Texas Rep. Tom Delay once answered the question, how many guns do you own? His answer: More than I need, fewer than I want.
Oooh....all of my guns will shoot ammunition with a crimped primer!
Guess that makes me a criminal!

They spell it differently out there, I’ve always known that plant as “wisteria’ (wis-STEER-ee-ya).
It’s an impressive vine for sure but it’s got to be the world record cultivated wisteria vine. There are old home places around here with wisteria vines run rampant that rival kudzu in extent and coverage, with the old house long ago pulled down by the vine.
Yes, wisteria is beautiful , but, as you say, very invasive.
That Henry repeater in .22 is incredibly threatening.
That “Glock 42” at the top, fifth from the left, looks like a Sig Sauer. I’m just saying. . .
