'Stealthing' could be considered assault say experts about secret removal of condom during sex.
Paper in Columbia Journal of Gender and Law examines little-known practice some say is 'rape-adjacent'
Haley says she knows the trauma of sexual assault. The 20-year-old Edmonton woman says she has experienced multiple forms of it.
But when she discloses the details of the latest instance, she says some people shrug it off.
That's because Haley is referring to "stealthing," the secretive and non-consensual removal of a condom during otherwise consensual intercourse. (CBC has agreed to not publish Haley's full name as well as those of the other women who spoke about the practice.)
Not everyone considers stealthing akin to rape, she says.
Haley said she had consented to protected sex with a man she knew and trusted. But after a few minutes, she noticed something amiss.
"I looked down at one point, and [the condom] just wasn't there," she said. "It was really scary."
Men and women are going to keep having sex outside or committed relationships.
This DOES NOT in any way shape or form excuse guys from harming others.
I’d still classify it as a felony assault.
People are going to have sex outside of committed relationships.
That’s an equal infraction on both party’s part.
What is going on here is a planned harming of the other party.
That should be a crime.
It was my opinion that spreading AIDS willfully was also a crime.
These people should be removed from the general population.
God, marriage, love and monogamy. That’s all I have to say.
How about this: only ever have sexual intercourse with your lawfully wedded spouse.
The article is about deception surrounding and involving sexual intercourse. You finally got it now?
The article is about men removing their condom.
It is not about women doing anything other that what the man is, engage in sex outside of a committed relationship.
Got it now?
The article is about deception surrounding and during sexual intercourse. You cannot deny that unless you are a stone cold fool. You a fool, yes?
This article is not about women deceiving the men in these instances.
Women do deceive men, but this is not an article about that.
When addressing this issue, “stealthing” me need to man up and declare it wrong.
As I said before, if you wish to post an article about women who try to get pregnant on purpose or some such without the guy’s knowledge, I would be critical of the women there. I would not be critical of the unsuspecting men there.
Neither party should be setting the other person up for eighteen years of responsibility without concent.
This thread is solely about men who are stealthing, and taking the women to task on it is wrong.
Shut up you long winded blowhard, I proved you wrong twice.
Please quote one thing women are described as doing that was deceitful in the article.
Thanks in advance.
The article was about deceit & sexual intercourse now shut the f*ck up fool.
The article was about men not using condoms when they agreed to.
At no time did this article address women deceiving men.
You’re having a hard time admitting the article only addresses what men are doing that was clearly wrong.
For some reason, it infuriates you to be called on something you should easily admit.
You’ve got a problem, but it certainly isn’t me.
