Full Title: Putin sends troops to Russia's border with North Korea after China also sends soldiers to its boundary over fears Trump will attack Kim Jong-un, sparking a tidal wave of refugees
Vladimir Putin is sending troops and equipment to Russia's border with North Korea over fears the US is preparing to attack Kim Jong-un.
The Russian President fears there will be a huge exodus of North Korean refugees if his American counterpart, Donald Trump, launches military action against Pyongyang.

From the video they appear to be DT-30s, tracked re-supply vehicles.

They are for use when rail and roads are unusable.
Imo the Russians appear intent on re-supply NK in the event of an attack.
The whole ‘refugee-thing’ is nothing but an ignorant delusion of myopic Westerners.
“How did you come up with that?”
Do the math. Economically; politically; everybody would be better off. It’s a done deal. There will be a brief transition — a military coup; massive humanitarian aid from China, Japan, SK, and the USA; then reunification. Putin will be as much of an a%%hole as usual.
Border clashes near Vladivostok and Mongolia in late ‘30s between Japanese and Soviets. Ended in ‘39 with Zhukov at Nomanhan (Khalkin Gol). Caused the Japanese to look south and freed up troops for defense of Moscow in late ‘41. Then in ‘45 Soviets launched their Manchurian campaign.
Second Infantry Division Ping.
Realists recognized that in regards to NATO as Trump expressed it as well!
We will have to see if there is an emergency meeting of the Shanghai Cooperative Organization.
God only knows what you thought in your head to my post!!
“This guy’s an idiot!”
Yeah, at 1300 miles China’s border is SLIGHTLY longer than 15
:)
I’ve not a good grasp of how much land there really is in the world.
NK looks small compared to even Mongolia on the map so I thought the Chinese border would be a few hundreds miles.
I’ve no idea how long Russia or China or Mongolia or anywhere except the US is :(
I guess having troops too close is an invitation for the North Koreans to cross the DMZ and attack them.
That is why having snipers in an area close by would be good -- if soldiers of North Korea cross into South Korea, snipers could send them a message.
By that, I mean not necessarily a kill shot.
There was the interesting case of ISIS (I believe in Iraq but not sure) going to execute hostages with a flame thrower.
There were three ISIS terrorists: one to use the flame thrower and two to film the execution of the hostages by flame thrower.
Supposedly ISIS had done this before -- execute hostages with a flame thrower.
The only problem this time was that a British sniper targeted the flame thrower (not the ISIS terrorist).
By hitting the flame thrower, the British sniper took out all three ISIS terrorists.
With “allies” like this who needs enemies?
China will eventually fall like the Soviet Union and become an ordinary Welfare State. But it is in their interest to get rid of the lunatic.
And it is clear which model of development is in the interest of China. By the time Korea becomes truly unified China may not even be Communist. That process is not going to be painless or osmosis-like by any means irrespective of the costs of a war to force it.
No, I meant miles (kilometers) back. Around Uijongbu.
One shot, three kills? Wow...
Russia’s also got loads of N Korean slaves inside Russia in their lumber camps- camps which are tightly controlled by N Korea to keep their workers from escaping or mingling with locals. There aren’t enough Russians to cut timber, evidently.
I’m late to this thread, wondered why no one else found this report suspect. At least the alleged reason China and Russia are mobilizing troops. Because of us? Really? Or as a yuuuge threat to Norkboy?
Are there ‘troops on border’ of the MUSLIM countries that abut Russia?
Surely there are ‘refugees’ that are fleeing those places as well.
As far as Russia and other countries, Russia borders quite a few different countries just because of its size.
It appears North Korea is being put in a bind as there is a gasoline shortage. I believe ABC lead off GMA this morning with it or maybe it was NBC with their Saturday Today show.
