Politics: The special election held in Georgia on Tuesday was supposed to a blockbuster event showcasing the anti-Trump wave sweeping the nation. Instead, it was an overhyped dud.
So sure that Georgians shared their loathing of Donald Trump, Democrats from around the country poured more than $8 million almost none of which came from people in Georgia's 6th District into the campaign of 30-year-old political novice Jon Ossoff. Celebrities endorsed him. The media showered him with free publicity. And he was running against 11 Republican candidates.
But even with all that support, Ossoff wasn't able to win a majority of the vote, and as a result he will have to face off against the second-place finisher, Republican Karen Handel, in June, to fill the seat vacated by President Trump's HHS secretary, Tom Price.
Still, isn't getting 48% a big achievement in a "ruby red" state like Georgia? Ossoff called this "a remarkable victory." And the New York Times says his "strong showing will ensure that national Democrats continue to compete here."

I hope they waste every penny their commie donors send.
Once again, U.S. citizens have urinated on the left’s lies. Hillary, Bo, and the rest of the “progressives” are wallowing in their failed movement of hate and change.
Let them spend; I laugh my ossoff.
(Can I buy a vowel, Pat?)
The positive spin the DNC/Media has tried to make on this is laughable. They spent $8mn on a single house seat going up against field of no-name non-incumbents and had exorbitant amount of free publicity and still only did a hair better than HRC did vs Trump. Even if they had won, it still wouldn’t mean much - in 2018 they wouldn’t throw that much money/publicity at every seat and they’d be fighting against well known/liked incumbents.
Hillary....get a cloth....cuz he’s gonna get his clock cleaned.
Because the American People wanted a 30 year old novice making decisions that effect over 300 million people.
This election is almost symbolic, but we should still go all out in the run off and take voter outreach and turnout seriously. We need to treat every battle against the pure evil of the Ctrl-Left like a matter of life and death. We need to crush every newbie leftist politician wannabe. We need to keep those bedbugs from establishing themselves in our homes again, regardless of the effort required to crush/exterminate them (politically, of course).
They needed Hillary, and Chelsea and Bill, and Podesta and Obama down there.....to help them strike up the band.
Didn’t he also live in another district? That ought to get some knickers in a twist.
DO IT!!!
Spend 10 million!! 12 million!! FIFTEEN MILLION!!! :)
The fact that he does not live in the district was not publicized in this race, until the last minute. For the runoff, it will be a major campaign theme by the Republican candidate, if she is smart.
Why bother? They’ve already had a “win for the ages.”
President Trump plans on visiting the District soon and helping Handel win this thing. Demwits just think him unpopular.
Georgia 6th District republican voters must get out to vote on June 20 to egg the faces of these carpetbagging donors and the pajama boy who won’t even commit to his girl friend of 12 long years and doesn’t even live in the district .
Now if this was California the run off would be between two Democrats.
The Democrats got a proposition passed so the top TWO vote getters would be in the run off EVEN IF THEY WERE IN THE SAME PARTY.
Karen Handel is GOPe but is a pitbull when it comes to campaigning so these next two months will be fun!
DNC chair Perez: "Heck yes, were pouring more money into Ossoff"

DNC's Tom Perez told Morning Joe. Id rather be Jon Ossoff right now than Repub Karen Handel, after $8.3 million (80% from out of the district)and an endless Republican field failed to keep Ossoff, Dems special-election candidate from a runoff in June.
DREAMER PEREZ: Hes already at 49% of the vote, and theres a heck of a lot of energy out there, Perez bragged after Joe Scarborough questioned the strategy of Democrats in investing heavily in TV spots. Perez pledged full Democratic Party support, saying that they had a darned good ground game and have room to do even better in the runoff.
=================================================
HATE TO BE THE ONE TO BURST PEREZ'S LITTLE DREAM BUBBLE---but Perez had a huge organizational advantage and the normal opportunities afforded in GA's special elections, and still couldnt pull off the steal......one key fact is that Republicans got more votes in GA-06 than Democrats and unaffiliateds combined even after the air-dropping of $8.3 million into Jon Ossoffs campaign. (hat tip Ed Morrissey)
