"In a blog post, Facebook said it was acting against 30,000 fake accounts in France. It said its priority was to remove suspect accounts with high volumes of posting activity and the biggest audiences."

Yeah, the best way to spot fake news is to look for the most comments and accounts with the most views/audiences. WTF? Oy vey!

I hate everything about Facebook. It was barely tolerable before they went so political.

I’d like to see some “Freedom of Virtual Spaces” law - one which declares that if you create a free and public space (such as FB) that it must adhere to the same laws as any other physical public space. Therefore, all free speech laws apply; the right to say what you want, freely assemble, freedom of religion, etc.

If a business doesn’t like it then they need to charge some fee to make the space private and controllable, as people will be choosing to enter into a contract.

Facebook:

“U.S. intelligence agencies have determined that the Russian government interfered with the U.S. election last year in order to help Donald Trump win the presidency.”

Absolute Bullshit.

Facebook, Google are evil and traitorous enterprises and should be investigated and dismantled. They’re an affront to individual liberty.

Nobody on the left finds anything wrong with this....and they cannot see the irony of calling the right fascist when they are out beating up people expressing different opinions than themselves and barring their speech on the internet.

The left has become exceedingly scary.

And good old Google: no mention of Easter on Sunday, but today on their home page they memorialize some 98 year old African woman’s birthday.
It’s like living in Occupied France ....

Elections were won and lost before Facebook. I suspect the banning of 30,000 online accounts will make some interested parties work harder in other areas.

Oy and that image! The faces of evil past, present and future. /o\

I’ve never had a Facebook account, nor would I ever want one. I don’t belong to Twitter either.

It will be: “Election via ‘facebook’ ”…as if the last 50 years of, “Election via TV “ worked out so well!

This is what you get when you put technology in the hands of morons… it’s like giving an Uzi to a monkey and expecting that he won’t pull the trigger, eventually!

Thanks again, NEA!

Either of you gentlemen believe Facebook & Google may be tools to weed out and eliminate the future Son of Perdition’s political and ideological enemies?

I have deactivated my Facebook account as I no longer wish to be a product they can try to exploit. Look what they did in giving away their data to the Clinton campaign without fair compensation. Such nonsense cannot be tolerated anymore which those political hacks keep pushing on others. If they ever leak my personal information then I wonder if I could have any recourse. In the meantime the best thing to do is keep my distance.

What about the social media outlet called freerepublic.com? It’s been around a lot longer than Facebook ;)
