Grocery store aisles are lined with chocolate candy bunnies, jelly beans, and marshmallow Peeps, but one thing is missing--the word "Easter."
Hershey's, M&M's, Lindor, Russell Stover, Dove, Rolo, and Twix have all produced Easter themed candy without mentioning the word on the front of their candy, according to a press release from the Liberty Counsel.
"Just as companies were trying to profit from Christmas while ignoring the reason for the celebration, now companies are targeting the Christian aspects of Easter and removing them," Mat Staver, Founder, and Chairman of Liberty Counsel said.

Time for a CHRISTIAN owned candy company.
There’s not much that is Christian about bunnies and eggs, so I don’t see this as too big a deal.
Corporate America, most of it anyway, is only interested in $ and not respect for Christian traditions. Best response is to stop supporting them with our $.
I buy pecans, toast them. Then get dark chocolate from aldi, melt it and add butter and mix, pour, cool and eat.
My local super market bakery did not have Hot Cross buns for the first time in the 30 years I’ve shopped there. I asked why and the clerk said “no one buys them any more I guess”.
I noticed the “Spring Equinox” candy seemed over stocked this year — I guess there has been a bit of a boycott.
Same company as it originally was. They are trying to be "year round" - Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, not just Easter. They have several retail stores also.
Company name is Just Born.
Easter Sunday long ago became a ‘Hallmark’ holiday in Our (formerly) Nation Under God.
This sort of thing may push me over the edge one day - I now have a less than zero tolerance for the corporations/people who mock the Holy Day of Easter Sunday...
GRRR! Please forgive my anger (tagline) and I sincerely send wishes to all my FRiends here for a blessed and happy Easter.
It's "Happy Easter" everywhere I've gone today. From folks bicycling out on the bike trails, the local Pep Boys where i had some new tires out on my son's car, the local pizza place that I and my new girl went to for dinner and the Meijer grocery store this evening as I stopped to pick up a few things for tomorrow's festivities.
It's been "Happy Easter" all day! I don't recall this ever happening before and I'm 54.
Eggs and bunnies are symbols of fertility, which has been celebrated in the early springtime since long before Christianity (or Judaism, for that matter). Since the era of Astarte, in fact (which is where we get the name "Easter").
Funny you mentioned that.
My family bought absolutely no candy this year either. Last year we had Cadbury eggs, the Cadbury Robin eggs (Easter pastels) and Easter Tweets
This year, NOTHING AT ALL
Dang worthless scumbags!
Russell Stover still has the chocolate crosses on their site. I didn’t look in stores.
Nor did we....not really celebrating candy and the bunny.
They killed Christmas and replaced it with generic secular Happy Holidays. Is it any surprise they are killing Easter? It is all about the bunny, donchaknow.
Before too long, Easter will be some kind of Druidic Earth festival.
Palmer chocolates are horrible!
PAAS had EASTER TRADITIONS on the one I bought at Wal Mart yesterday, had a bunch of other weird ones, from cartoon characters. So that company did have one and had Crosses on one of the eggs on the front, and Crosses and Bunnies and Flowers on the other ones. Oh yes and some Lambs. lol
Ah, the old kits with the acetone/fuel oil die mixture.
(grin)
>> I dont see this as too big a deal.
It’s a big deal.
The world is never going to accept Christ. Never has.
