NEW HAVEN — Hannah is a 14-year-old girl, clad in leggings and an oversize T-shirt, with long brown hair that she curls around a finger. She was also born a boy.
The government can’t seem to decide whether it should affirm children like Hannah. President Trump jumped from supporting workplace protections for transgender people to ending supportive policies for transgender students in public schools. The Supreme Court waffled on whether or not these kids can use the bathrooms of their identified genders, sending the question back to the Fourth Circuit. Last month, North Carolina repealed a law that forced transgender people to use the bathroom corresponding with the gender on their birth certificates, while strangely prohibiting schools from adopting policies that would let transgender students use the bathroom of their choice.
Politicians could learn something from the doctors who treat these patients. Over the past few years, it has become clear that if we support these children in their transgender identities instead of trying to change them, they thrive instead of struggling with anxiety and depression.

A 14 year old can not make his own decisions because of his emotional immaturity. His parents, for their own sick reasons have charted a course for him that will affect him his whole life. They should be arrested and placed on a sex offenders list.
There was a period of about 2 or 3 years when my cousin’s son wanted to wear wigs and jewelry and play with girls’ toys. He was 6 or 7 at the time and his parents (my cousin and her husband) had just gone through an ugly divorce. He eventually grew out of it. If my cousin had bought into this BS, the medical profession would have psychologically and physically maimed this kid with their treatments, perhaps permanently.
I agree. I feel sorry for “Hannah”. He was probably born to passively abusive parents who don’t know where their needs end and his begin.
I scanned the article, which is really no different than many I have read in the last few months, and didn’t see much mention of the parents. They are the ones we need to be looking at. In most of these situations, the kids’ stereotypical problem is a symptom of the parents’ mental illness and their resulting misguided behavior toward their child.
The thing that enrages me the most is the four states, including Christie’s, that make it illegal for “Hannah” to get the corrective treatment he needs to fix what’s wrong in his head. Christie signed that rotten legislation and I despise him for it. In doing so, he condemned a whole lot of future adults to misery and death.
All they are doing is kicking the anxiety and depression down the road. As soon as the genderbender is out of the indoctrination zones and has to work for a living and try to find a stable love life, anxiety and depression will come roaring back ten times worse.
Depression and suicide rates are off the charts for these people AFTER they get "turned into the opposite sex".
More facts that do not matter. Surgical mutilation, depression, suicide, destroyed lives are all very minor collateral damage in the sick war the left is waging on our society.

Last time I heard, the suicide rate for these folks in adulthood was about 40%.
Let that sink in for a minute.
The “transgender” and “sex reassignment surgery” butchery makes regular ordinary homosexuals look normal.
“Doctors finally treat ‘her’ like a girl”, so they talk to ‘her’ about menstruation, or how in puberty ‘her’ breasts are likely to grow, or about safe sex with boys, as in how the boy must use condoms or ‘she’ may get pr....... wait a minute, ‘she’ has no ovaries, will never menstruate, will not get bigger breasts naturally, cannot get pregnant or any of the other natural things about being female.
So ‘she’ is in fact, not merely ‘not born’ but not in fact female. And ‘she’ shouldn’t be treated like one. By now, if her parents had handled the situation correctly, ‘she’ would have gotten the help ‘she’ needed to end the obsession coming from her mental condition of rejecting literally her self, he true identity. Why that obsession began and helping her get rid of it is what the medical, psychiatric, profession was needed to be called in for, strongly and early.
