How did ‘less than stellar’ high school student Jared Kushner get into Harvard?
The Guardian ^ | 11/18/2016 | Daniel Golden

Posted on 04/07/2017 7:38:16 PM PDT by AC Beach Patrol

would like to express my gratitude to Jared Kushner for reviving interest in my 2006 book, The Price of Admission. I have never met or spoken with him, and it’s rare in this life to find such a selfless benefactor. Of course, I doubt he became Donald Trump’s son-in-law and consigliere merely to boost my lagging sales, but still, I’m thankful.

My book exposed a grubby secret of American higher education: that the rich buy their underachieving children’s way into elite universities with massive, tax-deductible donations. It reported that New Jersey real estate developer Charles Kushner had pledged $2.5m to Harvard University not long before his son Jared was admitted to the prestigious Ivy League school, which at the time accepted about one of every nine applicants. (Nowadays, it only takes one out of 20.)

Exactly.

You may have said that somewhat tongue-in-cheek, but really, what's the big surprise?

It doesn't matter what it is or what country it's in, money and power buy influence. If you want to go to a "prestigious" school like Harvard, you'll have to pay the man.

Maybe it's an eastern thing, because I'm from the West and went to university in the West, but who cares who goes to Harvard? I could give a hill of beans if Jared Kushner went to Harvard on his daddy's dime or got in with his great grades. Either way, who cares? Not I.

But I do think many of the problem we have in this country can be traced back to the people running the government who are products of these liberal, elitist, stuck-up, look-down-their-noses-at-everyone-else, we-know-better-than-you schools like, Harvard, Yale, Columbia, etc.

Or how OMumbles got into Harvard in the first place?

Yep. How did less than stellar Obama get into Harvard? No rich family background, no rich daddy. Just happened to be a poor community organizer. Around the time hundreds of millions of dollars were poured into the hands of community organizers by radical leftist groups and activists following Saul Alinsky teachings. Bill Ayers and Obama became partners in such groups who funded community organizers to do leftist activities. These groups paid his way into Harvard, bought his house, and funded his political campaigns. All records hidden away from public view, to this day.

>> Has the Guardian published an in-depth expose’ of Obama’s academic records? If not, why not?

The Guardian and its ilk lie, mislead, omit, and misrepresent to serve its Leftwing agenda.

And we are already witnessing the sins of the Father, with Kush’s aggression towards Bannon and Miller, probably Conway, too.

Nothing has changed.
You get into Hahvud and join “the Club”.
The Club buys you a wife and a life.
A Country Club Membership, and a Seat on Several Boards.
These folk ain’t talented, but they are Vapid, useless Loozahs.
Capable of fooling the Universe and being utterly Foolish ‘Leaders’.

“Maybe it’s an eastern thing...”

It’s a universal thing. While not a Yale Student, nor Yale Faculty I ran a department at Yale University and have somewhat of a firm ground to stand on when speaking with Yalies.

The coveted “Yale Chair” is a prime example. This chair is meant to occupy the Alumnus office, but you don’t sit in it. Only Yalies know the significance of this chair. And if you are a yalie, there is a secret handshake.

Not everyone gets that.

Where do some people get the information that only the best book-worms should attend the most prestigious schools? After most really successful or influential people did not graduate at top 10% of the class. That includes Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Bill Clinton, Winston Churchill, Jawahar Nehru, Hitler, Mao, on and on. Even Albert Einstein was not a stellar student.

In regards to the photo you posted... Why would they put his name on that vest ?

I imagine “Visitor” would be more strategically considerate.

Dressing like these dudes would be perfect. Super-casual, and the military guys wouldn't be offended by a fake uniform.

Of course, I wouldn't allow Kushner to dress like this unless he had the hair and the beards to go with the outfit. LOL.

My father graduated from Harvard in 1950. He was not a shining intellect, but my grandfather was. My grandfather was a chemist who worked on the Manhattan project. When my father shipped off to the Navy, my grandfather called Harvard’s admissions office to make sure my father’s spot would remain when he returned. They assured him it would be no problem. Using money and influence to secure spots in the ivy league is nothing new under the sun... regardless of what political party you hail from.

And engineered his rise in Illinois by getting the Chicago Tribune to rip open the sealed divorce records of Obama’s two principal opponents in his Senatorial elections: Blair Hull and Jack Ryan. Obama didn’t have the clout to do that.

Why would they put his name on that vest?

His mother probably put it on there so he didn't lose the vest on his kindergarten class trip to a paintball adventure.
