Report: Trump Moves to Own Tax Reform Plan Without Speaker Paul Ryan
Breitbart ^ | April 3, 2017 | Neil W. McCabe

Politico reported Thursday that President Donald Trump, chastened by his experience pushing for the failed Ryancare bill, is moving forward on tax reform with is own economic team in the lead–not Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI):

Just on Thursday, President Donald Trump huddled with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, National Economic Council Director Gary Cohn, senior strategist Steve Bannon, son-in-law and consigliere Jared Kushner and staffers from the National Economic Council and Treasury to delve into the various policy trade-offs and ways to structure a plan.

The key takeaway: The White House is not outsourcing these details to anyone, including the speaker of the House.

The report said White House press secretary Sean Spicer confirmed this new dynamic at Friday’s news briefing: “The president will put out principles, I’m sure, in terms of what his goals are and drive this as the process moves forward.”

A 14-page paper, obtained by Politico and developed during the presidential transition, is the central blueprint for the president’s tax reform program–and it would push Ryan’s own Border Adjustment Tax off the table.

The president is expected to propose cutting the corporate tax rate to 15 percent combined with a wiping out of the tax code’s catalog of tax loopholes and deductions Congress created to ameliorate the 35 percent rate for business profits. Another part of the plan is to simply the individual tax rates, again by lowering the rates and removing specialized deductions.

RE: Trump Moves to Own Tax Reform Plan Without Speaker Paul Ryan

There’s only one problem — How’s he going to pass it without Congress?

Should have done the same thing on health care.

He should do it NOW on health care.

Call in good people and let the Leftists in his party twist in the wind.

This should be the model from here on out.

Ryan, you’re a waste time. We’ve got four years, and you’re not going to screw things up for the whole four years, as you have for the last month.

Dear Mr. President,

Do something EXTERMELY daring on tax reform.

I'd suggest at minimum the flat tax plan Steve Forbes proposed 21 years ago for at minimum. And openly say we'll do research on FairTax.

He can submit it to congress-through a supporting cogressman, and let it all go on from there.

They can either accept it or reject it. If they reject it, then he can show that as proof that this congress is as worthless as any.

RE: How’s he going to pass it with congress?

OK, let’s stipulate that he can’t pass it WITH Congress, and the answer to the question I posed -— How’s he going to pass it without Congress is similarly “He can’t”.

Then the end result is -— He won’t get what he proposes.

The semi never Trumpers continue to under estimate Trump!

You anwser is so simple and obvious, it eludes their un wired brain cells:

He can submit it to congress-through a supporting cogressman, and let it all go on from there.

They can either accept it or reject it. If they reject it, then he can show that as proof that this congress is as worthless as any.

Lesson number 1 in power negotiation.

He and his cabinet will probably come up with something better and easier to pass than Ryan. Ryan was already giving in to the dems threat to shut down government if there’s money for the wall.

The voters are the key. Trump knew coming in that the swamp was going to muck up everything he had on his agenda. To think he is Pollyannish on this is fool hearty. He will advance the policies the people want and the establishment will not be able to do their typical bait and switch game anymore. You can’t kill the swamp without getting rid of the swamp monsters.

Down here near the Okefenokie, we are well aware of what happens when a fire is lit in the bog. It burns slow and deep and is almost impossible to put out because firefighters just can get the equipment in there to battle it. Do it Mr. President, light the bog on fire and burn them out.

But Ryan has a Better Way Forward............/s

Ryan is not a friend of Trump or conservatives.

About time people realized that.

“Trump Moves to Own Tax Reform Plan Without Speaker Paul Ryan”

Maybe he told Ryan, “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me once, shame on me.” He gave the guy a chance to do the right thing on healthcare and Ryan choked. So kick him to the curb.

I support that 100%. I looked back at my tax filings when I was in army back in 68 and note I PAID income tax on earnings of about 2K. IOW, I got no credits and the refund I got was of a portion of the taxes I paid. It was one way in those days, into the coffers. Today it is one way for some and a rebound plus additional funds for others with the various “credits” available. It really is nothing but a welfare system disguised as a tax system. No wonder most people feel those making a lot of money are not paying their fair share. IMO, the first question in any survey should be: do you pay any net taxes. If not, no further questions.

You beat the Republican Congress brains out as the party of big taxes and spending if they refuse to cut taxes. Treat them like the Democrats they want to be.
