Jared Kushner, President Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser, is currently in Iraq, two White House officials confirmed Sunday evening.
Kushner is traveling with Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr., chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who invited him on the trip, an official confirmed. The New York Times first reported that Kushner was on the trip.

Maybe he’ll stay there.
Wendell Wilkie travelled all over the world as the eyes-and-ears of President Roosevelt.
What have you got against Kushner?
That doesn’t make sense at all.
I still don’t know what he’s doing in the cabinet or the WH.
Or why his daughter has a room.
Didn’t vote for the family.
I’m sure Nobody here liked when the Kennedys did it.
Thank you WaPo. What will Ivanka be wearing to her next meeting, do you think? I’ll bet they breathlessly keep us informed.
There’s not a long list of people this president can trust. Whole different ballgame.
You can do a search on his name right here on FreeRepublic to get plenty of answers to that.
The Kennedys knew no competent people. Trump does.
Kushner and Ivanka have plenty of money so I`m sure they`re not doing it for the pay check. Until he gives me reason to think otherwise, I`ll trust Trump`s judgement to decide who he thinks will best help him to implement his agenda
He’s in the White House because he’s a friggin genius. Trump let his daughter marry him, taking the extraordinary measure to convert. If you think Trump can’t tell smart when he sees it, then you’re not going to get it. Harvard was too ez for Kushner so he was doing $20mm real estate deals in Somerville and Cambridge at 19 yrs old. He grew up knowing Netanyahu. His father did the largest real estate deal ever with 666 Madsion Ave. He’s won Ivanka Trump. This isn’t Andy Card or Dana Perino. You can have the rest, I’ll take Kushner.
I think he’s trusting the right people and as you said, there isn’t many of them that he can trust.
Huh? Jared Kushner couldn’t even get into Harvard until his father made a major donation to the school.
No honey trap when daughter is around.
Going with Dunford is a good way to understand what? Women and trannies in the infantry?
That’s a really good resume. Mark Zuckerberg’s is better and I wouldn’t want him any closer to the Oval Office than the WH tour. One of the great business leaders took this country into VietNam, Robert McNamara. Business acumen is not always a tell for policy success or evennpolicy understanding. And as far as DoD stuff, I would be worried about Mr.Kushner getting OJT.
Alberta didn’t birth any smart ones did she?
Oh well.
You don’t understand what he’s doing in the cabinet?? He isn’t in the cabinet.
You apparently didn’t pay much attention during the campaign. Kushner was one of Trump’s closest confidants during the campaign and that continued through the transition and then after he was sworn in. You say you didn’t vote for it, but you in fact did.
“I think hes trusting the right people and as you said, there isnt many of them that he can trust.”
I agree with you. They are people he trusts.
Or why his daughter has a room.
Um, because the President of the United States is entitled to have damn well any advisors that he's comfortable with—family or otherwise.
Anything else would be sheer folly.
Since the President has never served in government before, it makes perfect sense that he'd include in his inner circle of advisors people who he trusts implicitly.
President Trump is in the midst of a swamp which he has no idea what the extent of it is, and whom he can really trust.
I've never heard more ridiculous second-guessing in my life.
Maybe you'd prefer that the President replace Ivanka and Jared with a couple of Washington insiders?
For God's sake, Jared Kushner's data op was almost single-handedly responsible for helping secure the President's victory in November!
Whom do you suggest?
Donald Trump is an experienced executive who has proven to be an excellent judge of character, and who possesses sharp instincts regarding who is worthy of his trust.
Nobody is more qualified to choose who the President's inner circle is than the President himself.
All else is just gratuitous hand-wringing that bears a striking resemblance to that of the Democrats and Media (but I repeat myself)...
