Progressives Outraged That Mike Pence Protects His Marriage from the Sex Culture They Created

March 31, 2017 (TheBridgehead) -- Media figures, pundits, and commentators spend a decent portion of their time these days enthusiastically advocating for all sorts of new sexual lifestyles—their championing of gay marriage has quickly moved on to discussions surrounding the benefits of polyamory, the consensus they insist exists on transgenderism, and the rising trend of “open marriages.” So its hard to imagine what would shock these veteran bedroom journalists, who cut their teeth on reporting on Pride Parades, orgies, and unique marital arrangements. But it turns out that they have finally found something that has stunned them to their core: Mike Pence’s commitment to his wife.
Specifically, they are shocked—shocked—that Mike Pence will not eat out alone with women who are not his wife, and offended on behalf of those cruelly denied Pence’s company–because he also does not attend mixed gatherings where alcohol is present without his wife. Twitter immediately erupted with progressive journalists who suddenly forgot their dogmatic tolerance and began accusing Pence of being worse than someone who advocated for Sharia law, proving that they literally know nothing about Sharia law, which was hardly put in place to ensure a husband’s faithfulness. It also proves they know nothing about the political scene. Anyone remotely familiar with the atmosphere in political circles is aware that adultery is not infrequent—and that alcohol is often a major contributor. In a little DC restaurant a couple of years ago, for example, one long-time patron insisted on regaling me with tales of Newt Gingrich stumbling drunk from dinner with whichever mistress he was currently courting at the moment.
But reality is immaterial. The one thing we are permitted to condemn, it turns out, is somebody trying to take precautions to ensure the longevity of his marriage and faithfulness to his wife. Even a few Canadian newspapers decided to cover the story, most notably Ashley Csanady in the National Post, who announced that Pence’s policies were “rape culture at work.” Csanady was apoplectic, calling Pence’s arrangement sexist and extrapolating that the reason Pence is taking such precautions is that he holds to the notion that “men are unable to contain themselves around women” and that women were “over-sexed” and “would prey on men.” This scenario, of course, was concocted purely in her fevered feminist imagination. The reality is much simpler: Affairs sometimes happen. To avoid the temptation of an affair, eliminate circumstances in which one could occur.
Rather than noting that many women would love their husbands to have the fidelity that Pence clearly possesses, Csanady decides to set up a few religious straw men created almost exclusively out of a dreadful misunderstanding of both history and Christianity. “Centuries later,” she moaned, “we still live in a culture that produces vice-presidents who ardently believe women are a wellspring of possible sin.” And it gets even worse, she tells us: “At its core, Pence’s self-imposed ban is rape culture.” Yes, you read that right. Even trying to ensure that you don’t sleep with anyone but your wife can now be an indicator of “rape culture.” It is precisely because of people like Csanady that nobody believes in rape culture to begin with.
Working with a lack of evidence, a lack of understanding, and a lack of context, Csanady still apparently knows just how Pence’s mind works, and is there to walk us through his inner thought processes: “The explicit reasons for Pence’s restriction are religion and family, but the implicit reason is that he must avoid alone-time with women lest his stringent religious moral code fall apart in the presence of a little lipstick and décolletage. That is rape culture.” How does she know this? Well, his pro-life position obviously indicates that he sees women as lesser human beings, says Csanady, who sees the pre-born children of women as lesser human beings but does not see the irony in her own statement.
Well then. That’s a whole lot of guessing resulting in a whole lot of stupid. Again, Pence is pretty up front about what his motive for his policies are: He loves his wife, and desires to remain faithful to her. As such, he has organized his life in such a way that even the opportunities for unfaithfulness are largely removed. His wife seems thrilled with their mutually-agreed upon arrangements, but that is obviously because she has not taken the time to have progressive journalists and witch-hunting feminists explain to her that she is actually the victim of a man who is obviously perpetrating rape culture.
It’s crazy that people would actually get outraged by a husband’s decision to avoid potentially compromising situations. The same people who are constantly celebrating the destruction of sexual inhibitions everywhere are offended by someone who seeks to ensure that his marriage does not become a victim of today’s anything-goes sexual climate. National Review columnist David French, who faced scrutiny due to his brief flirtation with the idea of an independent presidential run last year, underwent the same mockery and accusations when journalists discovered that he and his wife had come up with strict rules on how each interacted with the other sex while he was deployed to Iraq. Remaining faithful to your spouse, it turns out, is the New Sexism.
This nonsensical outrage shows the cultural divide between Christians and the rest of the culture even more starkly than before. It also shows that in spite of the celebration progressives engage in each time another sexual barrier comes down, there are always going to be some things that they find uncomfortable: Stable, loving, faithful marriages where the spouses make sacrifices in order to ensure that their marriage does not become a casualty of the sexual culture the progressives created.

Libs Despise Virtue.
1 Wis 2:1, 12-22
The wicked said among themselves,
thinking not aright:
Let us beset the just one, because he is obnoxious to us;
he sets himself against our doings,
Reproaches us for transgressions of the law
and charges us with violations of our training.
He professes to have knowledge of God
and styles himself a child of the LORD.
To us he is the censure of our thoughts;
merely to see him is a hardship for us,
Because his life is not like that of others,
and different are his ways.
He judges us debased;
he holds aloof from our paths as from things impure.
He calls blest the destiny of the just
and boasts that God is his Father.
Let us see whether his words be true;
let us find out what will happen to him.
For if the just one be the son of God, he will defend him
and deliver him from the hand of his foes.
With revilement and torture let us put him to the test
that we may have proof of his gentleness
and try his patience.
Let us condemn him to a shameful death;
for according to his own words, God will take care of him.
These were their thoughts, but they erred;
for their wickedness blinded them,
and they knew not the hidden counsels of God;
neither did they count on a recompense of holiness
nor discern the innocent souls reward.

Pence and his wife really need to keep this stuff private. Trust me, conservatives are not helping themselves with this kind of stuff. It’s smacks of evangelical kookery , and does nothing to “lower the demos” for conservatism, something it desperately needs.

So I guess it was alright, using the logic of feminist criticism of Pence as a guide, for Bill to orally service Monica in the White House while Hillary and Chelsea were away on an overseas tour during a summer in the mid 1990s?

The reality is much simpler: Affairs sometimes happen. It's even simpler than that - false accusations often happen. Especially when the invitee has an ideological axe to grind, as so many do with any conservative politician.

No. Actually it is because they forced Christians into the closet and banned virtue from the public square. Our “Just” laws now promote vice.
It is all just common sense and the understanding of human nature and the understanding that males and females are different. But common sense and logic is being stripped from our children and culture so we remain dumb and irrational for life-—like tribal people (collective minds).
This ignorance-—the loss of virtue—and the intentional vulgarization of our culture and “Sex Ed” (cultural marxism) to destroy virtue formaiton in children is why we are HERE.
Virtue has to be preached in ALL churches and ALL Just Law has to promote “public virtue” (Montesquieu)-—and it was banned in the 60s so children could be groomed for sodomy orgies like the ones in Hollywood with all the pretty little boys, and corrupted into satanism (immorality).
Vice creates slaves only (Socrates/Aristotle/Founders). Wisdom is the ability to discern Good and Evil. Now our culture FLIPS good and evil to normalize tribal, occult practices of sodomy, pederasty, incest, pedophilia, cannibalism, and baby-sacrifice (torture and killing).
When we HIDE virtue and promote vulgar evil use of human beings like with baby-killing and sodomizing others, we will get evil —like in the pagan, hedonist cultures and Afghanistan where boy harems and hating and mutilating women and girls is “normal”. Vice collapses culture and freedom is only possible with virtuous people.

It’s very wise, for his own protection. Sadly, there is nothing a motivated female would not stoop to to compromise a man in a powerful position like VP Pence.
So if they’ve had that policy for a long time in their marriage, it should be very comfortable to continue it, not like he’s being put on probation or anything.

No, Southern, we ( and they) need to sing this standard of moral conduct from the roof tops and from every platform and media available. These are people whom the US used to be like. I applaud the Pence’s and every other Christian family who toe the line in personal and public behavior.
This is the standard that can save our children and grand children from the lefts’ assault on values, family or other.
The leftists need to fear this kind of righteous behavior.
as a similar minded man and Army officer, I often had to step forward and demand that duty requirements did not impinge on my personal standards of conduct and honor- yes even to the extent that I had to fight for the ability to not be forced to travel with a woman unless there were others present. My commanders sometimes frowned, but they all complied and more than one even told he admired my resolute dedication to the honor of my marriage vows and fidelity to my wife ( now of 34 years).

Exactly right.
This is personal self defense on more than one level - something only a Liberal, a raging feminist, or a fool (but, I repeat myself) imagines it unnecessary in today's climate of political accusations and/or blackmail.
Well, perhaps it is for them.
But normal people know what traps are often set out there to snare the unwary into a sexual harassment or similar lawsuit or compromising situation. This is how Feminists and Liberals so often prosper against their political and personal enemies.

Aha, this explains the latest strident, shrill, foot-stomping hissy fit on FB. My dear sister (who is a crazy-ass liberal) posted some screed today about “holier than thou” Pence and how Bernie Sanders is the most Christian and moral politician there is out there. I’ve been wondering why her latest snarky aside has been a pompous, self-righteous “What would Jesus do” when is comes to everything political since I know it’s not because they have a new understanding and appreciation for him.
This must be their latest bow in the quiver to mock, demean, insult and put down Christians. It’s insufferable to listen to but, since I’m behind enemy lines in California, there is no such thing as a discussion since I am soooo wrong. I’ve just been stunned by the virulent hatred seething out of the “tolerant”. No point in unfriending her since I think it’s important to have an understanding of what exactly they’re gnashing their teeth about....

You are exactly right. There may be many reasons for a man to decide to conduct himself this way, but when you see all the false accusations and character assassinations that public figures are put through, it only makes sense for a man in an important position to protect himself in this way for practical purposes.
Given the world we’re living in, to NOT do so would be a sign of poor judgment and of a lack of wisdom.

It is Washington after all. He does have power. There is also the chance of the ‘setup’ by the opposition party or groups opposed to Pence. So, he and his wife are very wise from a strategic standpoint and a tremendous example for others to follow. Hopefully, many Christians will see and follow the example. For these sexual libertines any light of truth is like sunlight to a vampire.
