If you were opposed to the Obamacare replacement bill, the American Healthcare Act (AHCA), it was probably because it was hardly the Obamacare replacement we were promised.
Congressional Republicans had no problem holding countless votes to repeal all of or parts of Obamacare when Barack Obama was president, yet all of a sudden theres a hold up, despite the promise there would be an Obamacare repeal bill on Trumps desk his first week in office.
Unfortunately, the AHCA turned out to be nothing more than Obamacare-lite. Daniel Horowitz summed up the problem in Conservative Review, that the sum of the GOP plan is to take everything that is bad about Obamacare taxes, regulations, subsidies, and mandates and leave the critical structure in place, albeit with some policy tweaks around the edges.

The question, at this point, is which party is destroying itself faster?
Clickbait warning!
The HoR and Senate are two distinct lavish country clubs. I have no doubt that if they could get away with passing a vote that gave them lifetime tenure with no voting, they would - to a man j- vote in favor of it. Bar none.
I know that snake of a Congressman of mine would do it in a heartbeat.
I think single payer is the next stop and it will pass with minority Republican support, majority Democrat support and Trump will sign it facing a veto proof margins.
I gave you the reason. You want more posted for you so you don’t have to click the link? Ok. Whateva.....
“Heck, even the acronyms for this Obamacare replacement (officially the Affordable Care Act, or ACA), was only a single letter off the replacement.(AHCA big deal)
But heres the worst part of all: Most of the opposition to the bill wasnt for being too liberal. It was for being too CONSERVATIVE.
As Unbiased America noted:
The vast majority of opposition to Paul Ryans healthcare bill was from representatives who thought it was too conservative (i.e. it went too far in reducing subsidies), including 193 Democrats and at least 6 Republicans. Only about 18 representatives, all Republican, opposed it because it was too liberal (i.e. it didnt go far enough in repealing Obamacare).”
Donald and the Billionaire Boys Club have always wanted to offload employee health insurance costs to the taxpayer. No surprise here.
I’ve said it since day one, “Republicans helped pass ObamaCare from the beginning”.
We traded Ted Cruz for this.....really!!!!
Right on...the original one-vote victory was pre-arranged in a back room.
The reason it was pulled was that nobody wanted the public to see how few votes it got at the end of all that nonsense.
Ted Cruz is no Conservative.
Yeah, but Ted Cruz’ father killed JFK (right after he slipped around to St. Petersburg), and his wife once had connections to the financial industry.

Right on. I cannot believe Trump went along with this. I hear all the deflecting here but Trump really did want this thing to pass. BS that he was giving them rope. He promised us a “beautiful bill” and if he thought that bill was beautiful I am beginning to wonder what his definition of beautiful is!
Healthcare is one word
It was the A-HA bill
Click bait headline and a vanity post. If you write it and you post it there is a separate forum for it.

Sorry. You didn’t write it. It’s just click bait b
The conressional Republicans were never serious about repealing Obamacare. When was the last time the government handed any power back to the people?
Really...and who do you consider a conservative?
