This healthcare debate among the GOP factions is absolutely stupid and counterproductive

Posted on 03/26/2017 5:08:03 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

This is absolutely stupid. These long drawn out debates within the GOP struggling to settle on the nitty gritty about what and who should be covered and at what price is ridiculous. It's NOT your job, gentlemen. All you are doing is playing into the socialist democrats hands.

Please consult your pocket constitutions and discover that the power to make these decisions regarding health care and insurance, etc, is not an enumerated power and is not delegated by the constitution to the congress or the federal government. It's reserved to the states and the people. Get OUT of it!!

Conservatives and Republicans fight against this unconstitutional intrusive big government socialist crap, remember?

Mr. President, I know that you are a compassionate guy and you like to take care of the people, but our federal government was not established to be a charity to take care of the poor. This was all left to the local and state governments and the people to decide. Charity is a societal or local government issue, not federal government. Insurance is in the domain of free enterprise. You need to get your people out of it, and concentrate on your primary constitutional responsibilities: National defense, national security, border security, foreign relations, trade, making sure our federal courts and constitutionally authorized departments are manned with constitutional-minded people and that they are faithfully and efficiently executing the constitutional laws to the best of their abilities. Keep the waste and fraud and corruption OUT! Keep the cost of government and taxes down. Do not allow the federal government to put up unconstitutional or unnecessary regulations or obstacles to free enterprise.

You want to go down in history as the most successful president in history and the one that saves the nation and our liberty?

If so, repeal and dump Obamacare and all the other wasteful unconstitutional crap you can right now, early in your first term. Do your homework, find out which departments and programs are dragging down the economy, dump them, and cut deeply into the deadwood wherever possible.

Write off and dump everything you possibly can and take all your big lumps in your first year or two. Get all the losing crap behind you and then start building on your successes with your new lean and mean constitutional machine.

Like the man said. Go BIG and go BOLD! Repeal, cut, slash, rip, burn and abolish (rinse and repeat)!

Drain the swamp and MAGA!

Oh, yeah. And don't count on Lyin' Ryan, Turtle McConnell or any other big government establishment RINO. You were elected to fight against the establishment jackasses, not to join them. Remember?

I disagree. This fiasco is on Ryan. Ryan wanted Trump isolated. Now Ryan is isolated. Remember the process to replace Boehner? Same process with Ryan but Trump is now in the driver’s seat.
It doesn’t matter what the Senate did Thursday. It’s a funding bill; it must start in the House.
Now it’s time to fire Comey and his top six assistants. Name Judge Napolitano FBI Director. Name Christie the top investigations leader; Giuliani leads the bureaucracy.
Put the Clintons in prison with Huma, Mills, Rice, Podesta, etc. Weiner skates because he turned in his computer, You know he’ll do it again. Some lifer will push a broken bottle inside him.
Now it’s time to fund patriotic conservative Republicans to primary the neverTrumpers.

Correct. And should insurances move freely between the states without obstructions? Insurances are services that are purchased, are they not?

Has everything to do with making commerce regular.

If we follow the narrow view, then no service or good is to move freely amoungst the states, indian tribes, or foriegn nations.

Is healthcare a interstate commerce service? Or is it now a state only commerce.

When did I miss this?! Outside of the platform that, 40 yrs. later, *STILL* calls for the abolition of the DoEd

TARP, DHS, NSA, Patriot Act, NCLB, do-nothing post 9/11, Par D expansion, “Read my lips”, exec. amnesty, “Dreamers”, 25+yr ‘budgets’, etc. How lasting was that partial-attempt known as the ‘Contract w/ America’?

That definition of insanity...

Trump was never going to go that far on healthcare.

Funny, I thought the President was still Constitutionally bound as well, or Congress over-riding his veto, or his word trumps (for lack of a better term) mine\yours\ours... Got to get mine updated.

When We the People have determined we’ve had enough, it won’t matter what Congress or D.C. says...

I’d have to research it further, but I think the SCOTUS ruled that an insurance policy is a state’s rights issue because it is a contract between you and the insurance company. (Not a “commerce” issue per se). YMMV

Jim I agree with your analysis and recommendations and think President Trump would love to do as you recommend but he cannot because of the powers the constitution gives to Congress. And congress is a bunch of politicans who are not going to relinquish any power to the states or allow any president to make that happen.

The political establishment will never give up its power short of millions of pitchforks and torches marching on congress.
