SEASIDE HEIGHTS -- A pro-Trump rally, which drew more than 2,000 in Seaside Heights, briefly took an ugly turn on Saturday -- one day after Republicans in Congress failed to pass their long-promised healthcare reform bill.
...the crowd cheered on a series of speakers declaring their hatred of "fake news" and their wistfulness for an America that they said had once promised liberty and prosperity for all of its citizens.
The four-hour event, which was largely peaceful, took on a sour note in the first hour when a small group of Trump protestors was jeered and shoved as they walked through the crowd while toting signs mocking the president's goals, including his plan to build a wall between the United States and Mexico.
The gathering took on the familiar tones of other Trump rallies, with country music blaring, chants of "U-S-A, U-S-A," and "build that wall," and signs and flags adorned with his campaign slogan, "Make America Great Again."

We can't forget that even if President Trump isn't exactly FreeRepublics cup of tea, that events like this let people know outside of sites like this, that they are not alone in thinking something is amiss in the country.
Ive been inspired by the FreeRepublic activism that germinated with the site in 1998. I protested Clinton with FReepers and attended Tea Party rallies. It would be great for more denizens of FreeRepublic to continue the tradition of taking it to the streets!
The left is still trying to provoke violence. Trump supporters need to do a better job at ignoring them unless they actually turn violent.
I have been out there 2 times in the last month and a half.
Once against Planned Parenthood and then a pro Trump rally, hadn’t done it in years.
Used to protest against Obama and Harry Reid and go to tea party rallies.
Went to DC when we had a million people against Obamacare.
Sure feels great and I meet a lot of wonderful people.
It’s kinda hard to just ignore someone throwing pepper spray in your face.
I am going to have to start attending rallies again. It is good politics. We have to make noise so the general population knows that the Black Blok morons are a small minority.
video of said scuffle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RhC4iDB3FI
It happened so fast, people in the back barely even registered that the protestors had infiltrated the perimeter.
As I said, ignore them unless they actually do something violent. If someone is assaulting others with pepper spray, a proportional response is necessary.
The Trump supporters should not have escalated the situation simply because someone carried a sign that said "Build Skools not walls."
I hope that helps you see the difference between violent protest and non-violent protest.
Name-calling and middle fingers...it’s all they have!
2000 people peacefully gathering and bothering nobody. Some thug anarchist shows up,, starts a fight, maces people, and the press dutifully reports “Violent Pro-Trump Rally.”
This is as bad as the four black savages who kidnapped the autistic white kid. “Four people kidnap and torture “man” while calling him “n word” and spoke of Trump.
(I feel ridiculous just typing “n-word” but since we gotta play the PC games...)
As far as I’m concerned, if a leftist is crashing my Trump rally, the time to bust him in the mouth is as soon as he opens it.
Guess I’m just a bit more proactive than you (i.e., not a pussy).
Hope this helps.
Bingo!Put these thugs on the defensive.Make them understand that every time they show up they will be hurt, maybe badly.
Wow, more than 2,000 pro-Trump supporters. And in NJ. That number speaks volumes, right there.
Thanks, Incorrigible, for the update. It must’ve been fun to be a part of that.
Bttt
Darn.. I wish I had known about this rally.. I would have gone.
