Pyrrhic victory

The county lacks the means to pay the judgement.

The farmers in the central valley being run out of business because the abundant water was cut back to them. Meanwhile insiders buy up the cheap land and make a big profit when the train rolls thru.

>>The county lacks the means to pay the judgement.<<

Any entity that can tax can pay. In this case it would make sense to sell the judgement to a party that collects this kind of paper as a business. Those companies frequently then set up payments and then sell the now-secured debt to 3rd parties.

This kind of debt is probably not dischargable.

They’ll pay, just over time. The winners will see around 1/2 before taxes.

“Prision time for those decision makers, and possibly RICO?”

That’s the key to stopping this kind of stuff. Money simply fleeces the taxpayers. It needs to be put into law that in the case of a finding of guilt, incarceration will be mandatory. We must not let these criminal public employees foist their dirty deeds off on the taxpayers and walk off into the sunset.
The other part of these litigations is that they need to be short-lived and final. Judge Gorsuch hit on this very issue yesterday. Justice is too damned expensive for the average citizen so in effect, it is justice denied. Right now the government has essentially unlimited resources to keep you from winning forever. Ditto for these left wing organizations like the Sierra Club, ACLU, etc.

Yea, like the prosecutor in Baltimore in race baiting trail... her Uncle represented the defendent against the city and scored x-million/dollars.... If it is all in the family, I am sure she got her cut - I know her Uncle did not allow her to live off her city salary.
