Lou Dobbs: Speaker Paul Ryan Should Resign
Brietbart News ^ | March 14 2017 | Neil Munro

Posted on 03/14/2017 12:46:17 PM PDT by drewh

House Speaker Ryan should resign his post, says Lou Dobbs, the anchor of Lou Dobbs Tonight on Fox Business Network.

Dobbs Tweeted his resignation call Tuesday morning after Breitbart posted a pre-election recording of Ryan saying he would never defend President Donald Trump, and as multiple GOP legislators walked away from Ryan’s Obamacare replacement proposal, the American Health Care Act.

In the audiotape, recorded Oct. 10, 2016, Ryan told his fellow GOP legislators that ““I am not going to defend Donald Trump—not now, not in the future.” Ryan spoke shortly after the public heard the Access Hollywood tape of Trump’s conversation in which he said about women that “when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything.”

Dobbs followed up his call for Ryan’s resignation with two Tweets calling for the full repeal of Obamacare. One Tweet describes Ryan’s proposed alternative as “RyanCare,” and said it is failing.

According to the leaked audiotape, Ryan said about his reaction to Trump’s comments:

There are basically two things that I want to make really clear, as for myself as your Speaker. I am not going to defend Donald Trump—not now, not in the future. As you probably heard, I disinvited him from my first congressional district GOP event this weekend—a thing I do every year. And I’m not going to be campaigning with him over the next 30 days … Many of you on this call are facing tough reelections. Some of you are not. But with respect to Donald Trump, I would encourage you to do what you think is best and do what you feel you need to do. Personally, you need to decide what’s best for you. And you all know what’s best for you where you are.

Ryan wasn't talking about defending Trump in anything other than the context of these remarks.

“I am not going to defend Donald Trump's disgraceful comments —not now, not in the future.”

“I am not going to defend Donald Trump—not now, not in the future.”

Danged if I can see the difference, can you?

Remember when Paul Ryan was considered a Tea Party candidate.

I certainly do! And I can’t believe it’s that we had it so wrong, and instead attribute it to Ryan’s lies.

I can believe we fell for it...

Years ago (his first Congressional term) Ryan talked a good line—he was a budget hawk. Over the years, he has been bought out and is now owned by various special interests such as the Chamber of Commerce and Soros?—so now he is just a Uniparty hack—one who is for big immigration, big government and rewarding his friends.

Ryan’ll be harder to get rid of than Boehner. He’ll have to be dragged out, kicking and screaming. He’s totally hooked on the GOPe money/power train.

I didn’t vote for Romney; mostly because I was in CT, and didn’t really matter.

the guy openly campaigned against several items in the national Republican Party platform!

Can you think of a reason why he might have done that?

Trump didn't openly endorse Nehlen, but he made a point of making positive public statements about him during the primary campaign.

No he didn't in spite of the fact Ryan openly opposed Trump.

Paul Ryan invited President Trump to his little gathering with the specific intent to disinvite him once the audio of the conversation was released. It was a coordinated effort with Paul Ryan and the Republican Establishment playing their part to create a scandal to hurt then candidate Trump.

Mr. Dobbs is correct and to be blunt Paul Ryan is a sanctimonious punk who well deserves to get the smirk smacked off his face. I absolutely cannot stand the conniving fraud.

If Ryan resigns, who would we get in his place?

Ryan is a Marxist and a traitor.

He should be jailed

Ryan never wanted to be Speaker. He’s been Speaker less than 2 years.

He accepted the position because no one else could get a majority.

The End. You can put all conspiracy theories about him maneuvering to be Speaker so he could destroy something or other to bed.

And btw morons, it was HE who maneuvered Obama into the Sequester and got spending growth reduced. How horribly non conservative that is, reducing spending growth.

Remember when Ryan put some sort of breath mint in his mouth right before Trump’s speech before the joint session of congress.

I guess he figured he was going to have to kiss Trump’s behind at some point during the night and wanted it to be as fresh as possible.

I can virtually guarantee that Ryan is the first person in the history of this government who has done such a thing, the breath mint, not the a$$ kissing.

I’ll race you to the hall closet where my flame retardant suit hangs because that’s the same way I understood Ryan’s comments.

What Dobbs is getting pissy over is the strength lacking in Ryan and Price to simply put all the politics aside and do what’s right for the American people.

All conservatives, including Dobbs, should offer up text that can pass the Senate Parliamentarian.

Ryan has. Where is their text?

The obvious choices as next Speaker would be Kevin McCarthy (CA) or Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA).

How do you know what can pass if you don’t have an actual vote where our representatives go back to the people they are supposed to be representing and ask how they should vote?

These omnibus bills are absolutely stupid. Just pass small bills on each issue. Not rocket science to chip away at the mountain.

Instead of PRO TRUMP rallies, we should start having "DUMP RYAN" rallies!
