Trey Gowdy (R-SC) After ..Comey Briefing: "Be Very Very Careful" Relying On NYT WAPO For Leaked News

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) appeared on Fox's First 100 Days Thursday evening after a closed door briefing earlier in the day by FBI director James Comey concerning the agency's investigation into claims of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

The interview begins with host Martha MacCallum mentioning that Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA), who attended the same meeting, was "rattled" over the lack of information Comey gave concerning Russian involvement in the election.

Gowdy, on the other hand, seemed shocked at Schiff's apparent lack of enlightenment:

Trump knows Sessions didn’t do anything wrong. He is extremely loyal. He won’t ask Sessions to leave and I suspect that even if Sessions wanted to leave in order to save the president the trouble, Trump would not allow him to do so.

There are some very serious cases coming up and those imperiled are doing all they can trying to keep from being taken down. But they do not know Who they are dealing with. There is a higher power involved and neither Trump nor Sessions are like regular politicians. The evil forces can only use distortions and lies against them because there is nothing in their history to use against them which is why they have decided to do this.

As for recusing himself, why should he want or need to spend any time on a case that was completely made up of phony information? It does not matter whether he works on the Russia case or not. It’s fake and a waste of his time. Now, he will be able to devote his attention to the swamp draining cases. Somehow, I don’t think that is the result they were looking to get.

First Canon of Ethics in the legal profession: Avoid the appearance of impropriety.

An attorney cannot work on a case in which he could become a party or a witness.

Note the word “witness”. Recusal does not equal an admission of guilt. It merely means you have an interest in the case. It could mean your cousin is a witness. It can mean many things. It’s incorrect to infer that recusal equals some type of surrender.

Yeah, I get it, LS wrote some books.

It’s okay for him to offer Trump advice, but if others do it, they’re being “Hysterical.” Kind off hypocritical isn’t it?

No; I think hysterical fits the glove, so to speak. Take a nice walk, pray without ceasing that God will protect and defend our President Trump, Vice President Pence, Attorney General Sessions, and all who exercise rightful authority against the wiles of the adversary. We are witnesses to God's miracle.

Subscribing to the New York Times or Washington Post is the same as giving money to the DNC... they are one and the same.

If you believe as I do that God put Trump in, then only God can remove him.

Thank you for your reply - that was my feeling. When I saw Priebus with wife and children at a Trump rally, his enthusiasm looked totally sincere. And I LOVE Bannon, and trust his judgement. In fact: Bannon for President 2024!

Hmmmmmm.

Looks like those that leaked classified information to the New York Times and Washington Post are going to be held accountable for breaking the law.

Gowdy,

“I will tell you this - to the extent people are relying on media reports, whether it’s the New York Times or the Washington Post, upon which to base their factual assertions, I would tell them to be very very careful. I’m not gonna say any more than that, other than to say that the person leading the investigation on behalf of the Untied States government, the head of the FBI, listen to what he has to say - don’t listen to anonymous sources who leak classified information WHICH, OH BY THE WAY, IS ALSO AGAINST THE LAW.”

No, Bannon would tell you himself that he is not presidential material, nor would he want to be.

I read about this many times but I don’t understand why the police are investigating it. Shouldn’t the FBI and national security?

I take your word for it, absolutely. He is doing what he is meant to do, obviously. BTW I watched “Generation Zero” the other night - wowzer.

I need to get a couple of your books, too.

You would think so if it involved national security. Perhaps the Capitol Police just get first crack at it and then refer to the FBI if they think it is warranted? One thing I do know is that federal departments are very protective of their turf.

I was under the assumption these guys were contracted so they don’t have to worry about union. They worked for all democrats so maybe they want to cover up their stupidity.

LS is connected. Did the President tweet about your book on how he won the election?

This is what I mean when I say Team Trump ahead of the those who are perpetually concerned. They are way, way ahead.

It's fascinating to me that Hillary's initial outing as a depraved liar was Watergate and all these years later, her election shenanigans have come full circle, back to comparisons to ...... Watergate. God does work in mysterious ways. j/s
