Two IT staffers who have been under investigation by Capitol Hill police for a month were fired this week by two House Democrats. Politico reports:
Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-N.Y.) confirmed to Politico that Hina Alvis last day as an IT support staffer in his office was Tuesday. Her husband, Imran Awan, was working for Rep. Marcia Fudge (D-Ohio) as of Tuesday evening, but a spokeswoman for Fudge said midday Wednesday that Awan was no longer an employee.
As of Wednesday, Awan was still working as a technology adviser for Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), although hes been blocked from accessing the House computer system since early February.
Alvi, Awan and three other House aides, including Abid Awan and Jamal Awan, relatives of Imran Awan, and Rao Abbas, are all linked to the criminal investigation being conducted by the U.S. Capitol Police.
A previous Politico report describes what the investigation is about:
The Daily Caller adds, Investigators found that congressional information was being copied to an off-site server. Its not clear that there was anything nefarious going on with regard to the computer access. Capitol Hill police are not commenting on the ongoing investigation so its possible the main focus here is the alleged theft of equipment. The Daily Caller describes a complex financial history among the individuals being investigated, including a failed car dealership which led to a lawsuit and a declaration of bankruptcy.
Despite firing Hina Alvi, Rep. Meeks told Politico, I have seen no evidence that they were doing anything that was nefarious. As for Rep. Fudge, Tuesday she promised Imran Awan would receive due process but then Wednesday a spokesperson announced he had been fired. . .

4 brothers and 2 wives...keepin’ it in the family
I went in Navy at 17 in 1956, was born in the Bronx, lived in upstate NY & a few towns along the CT coast.
My count for my FIRST BI, in boot camp, in order to get in a school had me down for 19 PERMANENT addresses and some of them were duped... (I used to ‘joke’ that my old man was a step ahead of the landlord/repo man)
My clearance came through in ‘quick process’ but I did get inquiries from relatives etc that the FBI was ‘asking about me’....
Now I wonder how much ‘vetting’ etc these ‘employees’ got and how thorough a back ground investigation was carried out. (you can probably figure these clowns will claim the employees were contractors or hired by an outside firm)
Back in those days, in order to get married one needed permission (anyone under an E5 needed govt permission no matter where they were)and I did know of people that lost or were going to lose their clearance because they were going to marry a Japanese or Filipino.. Granted maybe that was just a threat to make sure some young virile lad didn’t rush into a marriage.

I entered the Marine Corps 10 years after you. I spent some time, a week or two, in Okinawa coming and going to Vietnam. Okinawa was a great place in those days. I knew a couple of guys who were stationed there, Camp Butler, married local women but were not allowed to bring them home because the military did not recognize a local marriage as legal.
Democrats Gregory Meeks (D-NY) & Marcia Fudge (D-Ohio) must RESIGN immediately.
Do it for the children.
Did they impound their passports? The dems have decided nothing was wrong, but the dems have been wrong before, in fact it’s a habit of theirs.

This is a good article which hasn’t been posted yet. If you scroll down you will see a scrolling chart showing:
The IT guys in the House criminal probe could read these members’ emails
The Awans and their associates collected $5 million from congressional offices.
These bars represent how they got that much money while allegedly fleecing taxpayers.
The money is broken down by year, congressional office and payment to
Imran, Abid and Jamal Awan and Hina Alvi, Natalia Sova and Rao Abbas.

Rao Abbas is a new name, to me, in this story.
a couple of articles mentioned a 5th but never named him\her.
Thank you for posting these links.
You can fire them but you can't STOP them.
Time to use the water boards.

This is scary———did you know there is a Congressional Muslim Staff Association on Capitol Hill?
Only one line on wiki: The Congressional Muslim Staff Association (CMSA) is a non-partisan, bicameral organization that strives to improve the institution of Congress by serving Muslim staffers on Capitol Hill and create a pipeline for young Muslims who aspire to serve their country.
Come again? Serve “their country.” Their country would be .....?????
So did Fugge send them packing or did they pack Fudge?
I suggest that this was the subject of the closed meeting with Comey and the DemocRATS.
First it was the meaning of “is”.
Now, the meaning of “their country”.
Parsing words and double-meanings has become a national passion.
Nefarious ... I guess that’s the new threshold for legality. This smacks of the hillary/FBI email investigation where they stated they found ‘no intent’ on her part to break the laws she broke. Maybe they meant no nefarious intent ?
