WASHINGTON – President Trump won’t attend the annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner because he wasn’t elected to “pretend” to like reporters, a Trump aide said Sunday.
“I think it’s kind of naive of us to think that we can all walk into a room for a couple of hours and pretend that some of that tension isn’t there,” Sarah Huckabee Sanders told ABC’s “This Week.”
Sanders compared Trump’s open hostility with the press to getting egged.
“One of the things we say in the South [is] if a Girl Scout egged your house, would you buy cookies from her? I think that this is a pretty similar scenario,” Sanders said.
“There’s no reason for him to go in and sit and pretend like this is going to be just another Saturday night.”

“This wasn’t a president that was elected to spend his time with reporters and celebrities, this is a president who campaigned on speaking directly to Americans, and that’s what he’s going to spend his time doing,” she said.

I would like to see President Trump ‘egg’ Fake reporters to no end.

There are no “Correspondents” covering the WH.
I generally avoid hanging out with people who hate me.

Allow a few jihadists armed with Uzis into the Correspondents Dinner.
Perhaps then these supercilious , out of touch media whores might finally get President Trump’s message on keeping America safe..

Prediction.
They will still hold the dinner, and they’ll invite Obama to attend, and guess what, Folks, he probably will.
He’s not merely avoiding a boring evening. He’s showing the whole country how unimportant the lame stream media are. They didn’t elect him, and he doesn’t need to trickle to them.
Remember how Nancy Reagan abased herself, singing “Second-Hand Rose”?

Tough choice for our President:
1. - Should I go to the dinner and sit there trying to be cordial while people who hate me act like juvenile delinquents, spit hate and venom at me, ridicule me and my family, make up the most atrocious lies about us and do their best to undermine my presidency?

2. - Not go.
Can we pay someone to deliberately trip the fire alarm in the building? Do they have a sprinkler system?

I think Trump bowed out before the steady stream of media outlets began to announce their boycott of the event.
He actually had a choice between the dinner and having a root canal procedure. No brainer.
