MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexicans fear deportee and refugee camps could be popping up along their northern border under the Trump administration's plan to start deporting to Mexico all Latin Americans and others who entered the U.S. illegally through this country.
Previous U.S. policy called for only Mexican citizens to be sent to Mexico. Migrants known as "OTMs" — Other Than Mexicans — got flown back to their homelands.
Now, under a sweeping rewrite of enforcement policies announced Tuesday by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, migrants might be dumped over the border into a violence-plagued land where they have no ties while their asylum claims or deportation proceedings are heard in the United States. U.S. officials didn't say what Mexico would be expected to do with them.
The only consensus so far in Mexico about the new policies of President Donald Trump is that the country isn't remotely prepared.

When people ask me about the Mexican illegal aliens, I just say that I am uncomfortable with being complicit with the Mexican ethnic cleansing by elite and wealthy Mexicans against their indigenous population. That certainly changes the conversation! Fox is the ultimate elite Euro-Mexican who has been ethnically cleansing his country and enriching his peers with American money and drug dollars.
Because they came from Mexico. Mexico has allowed its northern border towns to become staging areas for illegal immigration. Now they will have to deal with a different kind of staging area. Needless to say, it will add an incentive for Mexico to control its borders.

I don’t know if this is fake news or not. But if we are really dumping everyone who came through Mexico into the US over the Mexican border, that is really great.
Let Mexico pay the price of invading our borders by giving self passage into the US to everyone who shows up there.

Exactly. This is the best way possible to convince Mexico to stop letting their country be an open transit route to the U.S. for illegals from all over the world. Trump is a master at understanding leverage and tough persuasion.

Well, there’s always Puerto Rico. Resettle the ousteds to Vieques and resume using it for naval gunfire practice.

Our legal system is set up so that we cannot send asylum applicants back to their homelands while their cases are going through the court system. The left has also made it so that every illegal must have his or her case heard in court (they claim it's a due process requirement, even though these are not US citizens). Someone on Fox News noted recently each of these cases that allow an illegal to be deported cost U.S. taxpayers a quarter of a million dollars.
The Trump administration isn't talking about permanently dumping non-Mexicans in Mexico, but putting them over the border their until their cases are adjudicated here, at which point we would either let them into our country if the courts say we must or send them back home if they want our help at that point (they may prefer being an illegal in Mexico than a citizen of Haiti...).
