I’m fine here. Water in the road is even drying out. That retention pond is probably 5-8 miles from me as the crow flies but the river is in between.

Had to go into Carson City this morning. I hit rain then snow then rain again all in one hour. Been a steady rain all the rest of the day. Luckily, we live in a fairly high area so our only problem is if we travel.
Good to hear the Dayton retention pond is not breaking. I'm ready for Spring....

Hubby stayed behind to fight fire.Yikes
Another flood, I drove kiddo over to pick up a friend in the sunshine and dry roads. Bam! Nearly home but suddenly the valley roads were flooded from water rushing down from the hills. And hubby couldn't get out to us. Another mom with kids happened to pull up behind us. Water was pouring down the hill we'd just drove down so we couldn't turn around. Sitting there wasn't an option. White knuckle driving and prayer got us through flooded roads and bridges and out. No way we should have made it. I don't ever want to be in that situation again. Y'all be safe out there.

Not sure about dealing with the weather in TexasRemember, Texas has four seasons. Ice Storms, Tornadoes, Drought, and Hurricane. Sometimes you can get two or three of those in the same week.

Thanks HM. We're safe but wet. At least the winds are gone. We lost two tress and two windows in the storms a couple of weeks ago.
This Dayton alert seems to be precaution only. I still don't like the Oroville Dam situation but at least that one looks fairly stable, for now.

Are you saying theyve had 125% of THEIR YEARLY AVERAGE already? I believe I heard on the news that Tahoe ski resorts and surrounding areas have a snowpack of almost 200% of normal....that was before this last storm hit.

Wow, that covers houses. Ive only had to evacuate once in my life, from a fire and was never so terrified in my life. p>It
is scary! I had to evacuate twice in San Diego. Once was from our home. We could see the fires all around but not too close. Just smokey as all get out.
The second time, I was at school and we had to evacuate all the elementary kids. That was a trip! Trying to keep little ones calm is an adventure!

Just saw your post on the Anderson Dam and Morgan Hill. My Son and family live in SJ but are out of the flood area.
IIRC, Morgan Hill is one of the more wealthy areas of San Jose.

I can’t even imagine trying to keep a whole class of children calm.
I’ve got family down there in the area but no one has popped on facebook so I’m guessing everyone is okay. One of my cousins posted the link but didn’t say he was anywhere near. I’m old enough to remember when Morgan Hill was farm country.
