The National Weather Service in Reno, Nevada is warning of an "imminent" dam break about 85 miles northeast of the Reno-Lake Tahoe area.
The NWS is urging people to evacuate immediately.

I always thought flash floods were little floods that popped up due to huge amounts of rain.

Well, they do share a long border and all that rain and snow was headed inland.
Reno has had 125% of average rainfall/precip in this year already.
Are you sure about the permanent California drought? Climate Change Mythology is very flexible. It can mean drought or flood depending on the need. Time to check your sources.

Trace Gallagher of FOX News said that some parts of the Sierra Nevada in California have gotten 45 FEET of snow so far, and there’s lots more to come! YIKES!!!
