The Trump administration is slapping sanctions on Venezuela’s new Vice President Tareck El Aissami and accusing him of playing a major role in international drug trafficking. (snip)
The U.S. is also sanctioning Samark Bello, a wealthy businessman connected to El Aissami who has held significant business interests in the U.S. The U.S. says Bello provided assistance or support to El Aissami’s trafficking activities.

I think that there is no way that the Obama administration did NOT know of his involvement. For that matter, there must be a whole more leftists involved in various Latin American Governments who are also involved in narcotics and money laundering. I think our Government pretty much knows who they ALL are. And I agree that the Obama administration just let them slide.

"El Aissami is one of the main contacts in Latin America for the extremist organizations, said Luis Fleischman, senior adviser at the Center for Security Policy (CSP) in Washington, D.C.
“He is one of Venezuela's main contacts with Hezbollah,” said Fleischman, who keeps a close eye on the South American country. “He has been providing logistical and financial support to those organizations.”

Since when is “Tareck El Aissami” a Spanish name? Oh, It’s Not! This guy is connected with the Iranians and Hezzbollah.

El Aissami was born on November 12, 1974[4] and was one of five children.[5] He spent his childhood in El Vigía, Mérida, Venezuela.[6] His father, Zaidan El Amin El Aissami, who is also known as Carlos Zaidan, was a Druze immigrant from Jabal al-Druze in Syria[7] and was an alleged military associate of Saddam Hussein.[8][9] Zaidan, who led a local Ba'athist Party in Venezuela and had connections with leftist political movements in the Middle East, supported Hugo Chávez during the February 1992 Venezuelan coup d'état attempt and was arrested.[10][5] His mother is of Lebanese origin.[11] Tareck El Aissami
