Four Republican senators have withdrawn their support for Labor Secretary nominee Andrew Puzder after he admitted to hiring an undocumented immigrant as his housekeeper, Law Newz reported.
Per sources, Sens. Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Tim Scott, and Johnny Isakson have all said they will not support Puzder, a chief executive of Hardee's parent company, because of all the hiccups ahead of his confirmation hearing.
Puzder said in a statement Feb. 6 he and his wife had employed a housekeeper for three years but didn't know she was in the U.S. illegally.
"When I learned of her status, we immediately ended her employment and offered her assistance in getting legal status," he said. "We have fully paid back taxes to the IRS and the State of California."

So what! In Southern California it is impossible not to hire an illegal. More illegals than legals and no way to determine what is what. Ask a workman hired for your house for a green card. Guess he has one. Went to a stationary store, bought a green paper, and has his friend, an illegal with a computer, and there you have it. A GREEN CARD
By the way, have you seen what a green card looks like?
yeah I got congfused with all the Senators...
I thought he was one also...
but anyhoo he hires many people in the food business and I’m sure they are well vetted for honesty and good health etc...
was his own family less important that he would not make sure someone working in his home was fit to be around his food and his belongings ???
a police report to check for any criminal record would have easily shown she was an illegal alien and ineligible for employment...
why did it take him 3 years and just when did he bother to find out and what made him suspicious ???
“What more is the guy supposed to do?”
I don’t think the guy should have to do anything. If you’re here in this country, you should be presumed to be here legitimately. If we were checking people at the border, we wouldn’t have to check them later on.
Which is easier, checking people once as they come in or having every employer have to check them? Who is more familiar with the verification process, people who do it as part of their jobs, or an employer who may do this once a year?
Yes, Linda Chavez was, at best, GOPe, and at worst, a false-flag plant.
I may be guilty. I’ve hired a housekeeping service to clean my house. They sent two women who appeared to be of Mexican ethnicity. I did not ask for documents. My business relationship was with the agency, not the two women directly.
I hired a landscape business to work in my yard. The boss was a white man. But his hired help appeared to be men who were not born in this country; they didn’t speak English too well. Again I didn’t ask for documents for the workers. I assume the landscape business office handles all of that?
I will never run for office or be a pres.appointee. But if I ever were in such position, this illegal alien issue might well trip me up.
Trump should withdraw his nomination, then close the DOL ...
I DESPISE women who have to have big luxury houses but won't take care of them, or won't honestly hire Americans to keep them up. It is TACKY to hire illegals.
That being said--I'll bet Liza and Susan are hypocrites and are doing the same thing.
He endorsed Rubio and is trying to pedal backwards as fast as he can.
Yea my wife had one - waited years to come here legally and deeply resents ANYONE who cuts in line and doesn't wait their turn like she did ... Just sayin ... You don't want to cross her over this issue.
THAT’s why Murkowski, et all have withdrawn support: Because Puzder terminated her when he learned her status. The Puzders probably hired her through an agency, and assumed she was legit.
In the past, many people hired illegals, unknowingly. Mst fired them when they found out. I can remember when it was no big deal. Now they want to crucify those who did.
It’s a sure bet that this pick was a Preibus sop to the Chamber of Commerce to start with.To give the GOP-E skin in the game.
Scott Walker might be a nice pick.
Correction: “4 Repubs” should be “4 RINOs who feel more at home with the DemocRATs!”
Generally, what's involved is asking your friends if they know a good housekeeper. They give you a name. You call and ask if they have any availability. They come to your house once a week, or every two weeks, clean the place, and you give them cash. 80 bucks is kinda standard for half a day's work cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms, washing and changing the sheets, dusting, mopping and vacuuming.
Not that I know anyone who does that.
They don't want them to actually work. They want them to be wards of the state so they will vote for them. BOTTOM LINE.
Don’t forget Zoe Baird.
Elaine Chao (mcconnell’s wife whose daddy runs a large ship firm— taiwan based or connected) is confirmed as Transportation sec. She was Labor Sec. under one of the Bushes- can’t remember which one— and was pretty good on fraud labor and fake labor.
Excellent point, a US senator would have access to more information than most people. But I lived in Mexifornia for 20 years, and believe me it is easy to tell who was legal and who isn’t. All you have to do is ask for proof that they are legally able to work in the United States. Those that are have the documents on them and will proudly give them to you. The others run away. Or used to. Now they just snarl and call you nasty names in another language, since they never bothered to learn English. The liberals and pansies have embolded them. Pansies being the pretend conservatives who think it’s just fine to hire an illegal, and then try to get them legal status! RINOs. Trump better not think it’s fine.
Good channeling :-) you added an excellent point
