Suppose the following:

President Trump makes positive remarks about ballet, basketball, and the movies. Mr. Plank makes a statement praising President Trump's support of those things.

Immediatelhy, the "Rock," Curry, and Copeland would issue "reasoned" statements about how divisive President Trump's statements are, and would speak against CEO Plank's praise. I swear they WOULD do it!

Did you give Kevin Plank the courtesy of reading his comment?

Dumber than a Rock.... Fitting name for this wannabe decider of what people should think or believe.

You and your ilk make your living off being someone you aren’t as an actor.

That doesn’t mean we need to listen to or value your personal ramblings...

Alienating half your prospective customers doesn’t do your shareholders any favors.

What was alienating about his comment?

No!! He’s so good looking!! Sigh. He never had a really intelligent look about him...

Are there any attractive leading men in Hollywood who are conservative? Liev Schreiber could be. Anyone else?

China did so well with clothing and toy and pet food manufacturing. Can’t wait to see what they do with Hollywood.

Even mentioning Trump by name will alienate half the potential customers in the U.S.

I didn't say this was a rational response from prospective customers, but the comment by its nature is "divisive."

At best it was absolutely meaningless. It sure didn't do anything to enhance the value and appeal of the products his company sells.

Since when in the hell did it become forbidden to share any positive reaction to a President's policies?

I never said it did.

Did this guy accomplish anything by giving a positive reaction to anybody's policies?

P.S. -- I understand the company has recently criticized Trump's "travel ban" executive order. Did that do anything to enhance the image of the company in your mind? Do you see my point?

P.S. -- As I write this, Under Armour's stock price is down 2% today ... on a day the market as a whole is up. See my point?

from Wikipedia -

Political views[edit]
To promote his film The Love Letter, Selleck was invited to be on The Rosie O’Donnell Show on May 19, 1999. Unexpectedly, he found himself defending an ad in which he appeared supporting the National Rifle Association (NRA) and his position on gun ownership. After questions from O’Donnell, Selleck said, “It’s your show, and you can talk about it after I leave.”

Selleck is a member of the Board of Directors and public spokesman of the NRA.[31][32] After his close friend Charlton Heston stepped down—due to failing health—as the highly visible public spokesman of the NRA in 2003, Selleck has stepped up in comparable manner to succeed him.[33][34] In 2002, Selleck donated the rifle he used in Quigley Down Under (a custom 13-pound [6 kg], single-shot, 1874 Sharps Rifle, with a 34-inch [86-cm] barrel),[35] along with six other firearms from his other films, to the National Rifle Association, as part of the NRA’s exhibit “Real Guns of Reel Heroes” at the National Firearms Museum in Fairfax, Virginia.[31]

For a number of years, Selleck appeared in television advertising for National Review (he also subscribes to The New Republic).[36] He endorsed Senator John McCain in the 2008 presidential election. Selleck describes himself politically as “a registered independent with a lot of libertarian leanings.”[37] In a 2012 magazine[which?] article about his career, he mentioned that he likes the fact that his character on Blue Bloods and his Reagan family members are visibly practicing Catholics, while adding that he is not very religious himself.[citation needed]

Good to know. He was pretty hot on Friends. I don’t know why Monica chose that freak Chandler over him.
