HARTFORD >> Gun owners will see huge increases in permit fees that would raise millions of dollars to help the state combat its two-year, $3.6 billion deficit.

As part of his budget, Malloy is proposing to increase the state portion of the pistol permit fee from $70 to $300. He also is proposing the cost of the initial 5-year pistol permit fee from $140 to $370.

Start taxing politicians for donations they receive and that crap will stop yesterday. They will get the message.

Malloy, I have a great raise to raise money -— lower taxes - half the income tax, lower sales taxes (New Hampshire can be driven to in 90 minutes from Greenwich, so it is less in most parts), lower business taxes (so companies like GE will stay) and cut spending!!!

The power to tax is the power to destroy.
Count me in on a class action suit against CT if this idiot and his legislature are too stupid to understand what "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED," MEANS.

Can't be a clearer infringement than to "tax" a Constitutional right into non-existence.
Yet, requiring a voter ID costing $5 is deemed a "NAZI" unnecessary hardship...

When you have to pay a fee, it is a privilege not a right.

They should slap a $100 fee on voting. Let’s see how that flies.

In Maine, the fee is zero.

We have Constitutional Carry....no permit required.

Several other states have recently removed the requirement to obtain a permit to carry a firearm.

“Among U.S. states, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas[disputed], Idaho, Kansas, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, Vermont, West Virginia and Wyoming are fully unrestricted, and allow those who are not prohibited from owning a firearm to carry a concealed firearm in any place not deemed off-limits by law without a permit.”

To my knowledge, Vermont, never had a permit process; jes sayin’.

When all the investors in the ski areas invaded the state...things when down-hill pretty fast; a la bernie and B&J’s, yada. Otherwise, in small hamlets, there a lovely pockets of die-hard Yankee individualists. Like many states in New England, if you stay out of the urbans, it’s almost tolerable.

"....cost of the initial 5-year pistol permit fee from $140 to $370"

They are probably embarrassed that Nutmeggers are getting carry permits in record numbers - Malloy takes heat from the other Libtard polititians.

Now that Weiker is dead and buried, you're raison d'ete in Konnecticut is gone.
I'd head to a Red state too if I could unload my house.

Y’know, Michigan is viewed as a blue state here on FR. But when it comes to 2A the state is getting redder every year. Concealed carry still requires permit, but open carry doesn’t and continuing law updates favor gun owners. In recent years “shall issue” became law and the pistol purchasing process has become streamlined greatly. Once If you stay out of Flint or Detroit, Michigan is a pretty conservative state.

Vermont in the small towns are very conservative, however, when you are a town of 600, you will get overruled by Burlington, Rutland, Bennington and Brattleboro...

Weicker is dead?? He is the problem of Connecticut, he called an income tax like pouring gas on a fire...he, didn’t pour a can of gas...he put a gas tanker on a fire...

I remember the anti tax rally at Bushnell Park...and campaigning for Tom Scott...
