The Trump administration is poised to move quickly to approve major weapons packages for Saudi Arabia and Bahrain that President Obama blocked during his final months in office over human rights concerns in both nations, U.S. officials and congressional sources say.

Obama stopped over human rights....but Obama gave how much to Iran??
He should be dealing with them to take some of these frigging Syrian Refugees as part of the approval.
Huh? There was a huge arms sales to Saudi Arabia in September 2016.
Senate votes to back $1 billion weapons sale to Saudi Arabia

WASHINGTON The Senate on Wednesday backed the Obama administration’s plan to sell more than $1 billion worth of American-made tanks and other weapons to Saudi Arabia, soundly defeating a bid to derail the deal pushed by lawmakers critical of the kingdom’s role in Yemen’s civil war.

There was a huge cry against this sale at the time and people like Rand Paul (and others) tried to stop it.
Where do they get off saying ‘Obama blocked the sale’? He did not block it. He wanted it and he got it. Is this more FAKE NEWS?
I oppose this move.
This. Trump has been continuing Obama’s foreign policies because.... ??? reasons.
A billion dollars is peanuts. One of the first orders of business for Obama in 2010 was $60 billion in arms to the Saudis in a long term deal.
Why don’t you read the article?
Hopefully it’s just realpolitik. Saudis own half of Congress so the main historical supporters of Islamic terrorism can’t be tackled directly. Hopefully, the Trump Administration knows the reality of the Saudis.
It’s the Arab coalition Obama kept yammering about but could never assemble. The package to Bahrain is missile defense.
Yemen is on the list of the ban that is being discussed...Yemen last week fired a missile into Saudi, and they are willing to help with our fight against ISIS...and also gives a message to Iran...
Ok I missed that Obama had changed his mind at the last minute. Does that mean he not sign the deal that he had previously championed during his last months and that Congress debated at length and eventually passed?
What could possibly go wrong???
I have no idea why Trump is supporting this
I strongly oppose this move.
The very last thing we need to be doing is sending more arms into the middle east. Eventually our military personnel will be fighting against that same equipment and technology in some middle east hellhole.
The Saudis are going to buy weapons from somebody.
Why should the US be that somebody?
If we sell the weapons, we have some degree of control - as the Saudis are likely incapable of making spare parts or ammunition for said weapons.
The other option: Let the Saudis buy from the Ruskies and Chicoms, and have zero control.
I agree. Saudi has enough money and people. Make your own damn weapons or get bombed. We should stay far away from that. Do not arm the people who gave us 9/11.
Damn that makes me mad. We might as well sell them some planes and teach them how to fly while we’re at it.
Oh wait.
Saudi is the sepsis pocket that needs to be drained lest the poisons kill the patient (AKA decent civilization).
But, we didn’t teach them how to land.
***The other option: Let the Saudis buy from the Ruskies and Chicoms, and have zero control.***
I have a better idea. How about we bomb the freaking Saudi’s for 9/11 and for spreading terror all over the world. I prefer that method of delivery.
I think they figured that part out on their own.
