Why should the US be that somebody?
If we sell the weapons, we have some degree of control - as the Saudis are likely incapable of making spare parts or ammunition for said weapons.
The other option: Let the Saudis buy from the Ruskies and Chicoms, and have zero control.
I agree. Saudi has enough money and people. Make your own damn weapons or get bombed. We should stay far away from that. Do not arm the people who gave us 9/11.
