In the midst of a Democratic protest this evening against the nomination of U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., as the next attorney general, U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., began reading the contents of a 1986 letter from Coretta Scott King, widow of the slain civil rights leader, protesting his nomination as a U.S. District judge. (That nomination was unsuccessful.)
But 31 years later, Warren was sanctioned by her Senate colleagues for reading the letter on the chamber floor, which Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said impugned the character of her fellow senator.

“I thought to say something good about our colleague but I was worried it would impugn his character.”
Why, how dare you!!
Don't you know John Lewis was once beat up (by Democrats)?
Sweet!
What Coretta Scott King said in 1986 was a lie then.
It is a lie now.
Same thing for Ted Kennedy.
Neither person ever said an unkind word about the racist Robert C. Byrd of West Virginia.
The Fake Indian got censured bearing False Witness.
Decades ago, the Atlanta Journal and the Atlanta Constitution were two separate newspapers put out by the same physical location but with two sets of journalists and editors. Journal was lying liberals and the Constitution was sorta conservative.
They finally combined the two and IIRC they put that b!tch Cynthia Tucker in as the “editor” of the Atlanta Journal and Constitution. It is completely liberal and what you read in it is not to be believed by a rational, thinking person. I put them in the same class as Politifact, Snopes and whatever else lying third rate liberal fly by night group you can think of. Even if you line your bird cage with their paper it will probably give your parrot ass cancer.
This is how the Atlanta newspaper is reporting the incident on the Senate floor. I cannot believe the Soviet Pravda would have been this open about its biases.

I have far greater respect for what Pravda used to be than I do for our MSM now.
Freedom of the press means nothing in this country if they use and abuse this freedom to lie, distort and disinform.
Fauxahauntus is very foxy. She knows the rules...and knew she would be tomahawked by the Chair.
Her deliberate breaking of the Senate rules gave her a splending, attention-getting opportunity to invoke St. Coretta's name and reap the benefits with her base in the black community and the CNN/MSNBC talking numbskulls.
She had nothing to lose and lots to gain (at least in her way of thinking). Her brief senatorial event yesterday is certainly filling the TV screens throughout this morning....and she is undoubtedly elated.

Good, I hope Warren’s star rises. She has the ability to make Hillary look like-able. She’s awful.
Wrong. He wasn't a racist 30 years ago, either. It was libel then, it's libel now. The whole business is bogus; fake news at its worst.
LOL!!!
Be careful. Every last person at the Vagina March would vote for Warren. She is VERY dangerous. Clinton with almost none of the baggage. One can play the Liawatha card only so many times.
Last month our Phoenix talk radio station talked about the original case. Apparently, Sessions went after vote fraud perpetrated by people supported by the left. The fraud was done on behalf of black candidates. What makes the narrative problematic for the left is that the candidates who were cheated were also black.
The original fight came down to whose ox was being gored, not a racial issue. However, at the time, the leftists played the race card, just like they do today.
lol. You are right about every one at the Vagina march voting for her. But IMO she turns off normal women and everyone else.
Only men are allowed to read it.
It’s beyond comprehension that we have this woman, who deliberately and criminally faked her resume and background to get into a teaching post, but it’s not just that, she is trying to reap the benefit of being a minority. She’s maintains that she is a Native American, when she is not, and has been called out on it.
And she’s still in office and no one has done anything about it.
I shudder to think, if Mitt Romney or any other Republican tried to pull that stunt.
The lady is mentally ill, without a doubt.
This voter suppression is the biggest red herring. Almost 99.99% of transactions at a bank, at doctor’s office, at airports, at welfare office, at check cashing outfits, etc etc etc require photo ID! Except no photo ID for voting? What a piece of crock.
A much poorer country, India, has issued 800 MILLION photo ID’s to voters. One can not vote without that ID in India. So it is a cruel joke on legitimate US citizens when non-citizens can register to vote easily. Case in point is myself. I was not born in US. I speak with a foreign accent. Since becoming US citizen way back in 1970, I have lived in 4 different states, and registered to vote in all of them, and voted in every presidential election.
YET NO ONE HAS EVER ASKED ME TO SHOW MY NATURALIZATION CERTIFICATE or US Passport or any other proof of citizenship to register to vote!
On another issue, Betsy DeVos was grilled mercilessly during senate hearings about her lack of knowledge about public education nuances and regulations. She should have pointed out, that may be exactly her best qualification! Since we spend more per student than any other countries, and rank 27th in student performance among the industrialized countries, and developing countries of China & India. Therefore all those highly “experienced” secretaries of education have failed miserably. So why is that a dis-qualifier for her to actually change the system for better?
Probably why I read my local paper and not the AJC
Here is the CR analysis of what Sessions did to protect black voters.
