A cleanup to prevent an "environmental disaster" is underway at a protest camp near the Dakota Access Pipeline. The camp had been occupied by thousands of environmentalists and Native Americans who were demonstrating against the pipeline project.
It was the Native Americans who requested help with the cleanup, as massive amounts of garbage, human waste, teepees, and abandoned vehicles must be removed before the spring thaw when flooding is expected.

The Government should determine who was involved in this "protest", including their supporters, prosecute them, and sue them, jointly and severally, for damages.

Is this a photo of the actual during-protest encampment or a photo of what was left after they left. It looks pretty occupied to me, even if you can’t see any smoke from the stacks around. Horses, cars, vans and people around.

The Native Americans made the mess so they can clean it up and they can send a bill to environmental groups. If they were so concerned with the trash, they should have had tribal police out daily issuing littering tickets and making people pick up their trash. Not too many white men have teepees.

Like the `womens march on Washington’ tossing their placards on the ground and BLM, the neo-fascists and illegal aliens trashing their nesting places.

The story I gather was this:
1) The oil companies used to ship by truck across their land.
2) They paid the Indians a fee per barrel.
3) The original pipeline would have followed a similar path.
4) Substantially more barrels of oil would pass through the pipes (more efficiently)
5) The Indians wanted to receive the same fee per barrel, which would have been a huge increase in revenue for them.
6) The oil company made a counter offer, which was more in line with the newer shipping model via pipeline.
7) The Indians refused
8) The oil companies said they would build the pipeline elsewhere then.
9) The Indians demanded to still be paid for oil that was no longer even crossing their land.
10) The oil companies told them the stuff it.
11) The Indians swore they would block construction then.
And so here we are. They have enough people on Welfare and sitting around that they have time to camp out.
They originally said the pipeline crossed heir ancient burial grounds. That was a lie. Then they said that it illegally crossed their land. That was also a lie.
Now they are calling themselves “water protectors” - this is also a lie.
