“With slight shades of difference,” wrote George Washington in 1796, Americans “have the same religion, manners, habits and political principles.

That is no longer true."

Excellent article. His second option seems the more likely, given that Republicans fund and support the left more than they oppose it. Despite Trump's leadership they have no hunger to win.

Republican politicians collect three grand a week to play hide-n-seek. They have no intention of being transformative. Empty cans making noise.

Repeal/rewrite the 17th amendment.

1. States choose in which manner they select a Senator.
2. If by election, candidates cannot accept money originating from out of state or out of country.

We wouldn’t get the McCains and Reids, or Boxers and Feinsteins and other non productive Senators or obstructionists, the disloyal and just pocket votes for somebody.

It probably seemed that way in 1970 too. But things calmed down. Hopefully this is a cycle and it will calm down now as well. Otherwise, it will be Civil War.

The soft civil war has already begun. Take away the funding and things may settle down.

Do not tell that to a certain Tom Brady and a team called the New England Patriots. Another football team surprise win.

Why?

In less than a generation, anybody and everyone that grew up when American was still free (or freeer if you will)— solid small towns that were still economically viable, fathers and mothers that survived the depression and won the war, good school systems that honored America, a solid path to racial equality — will be dead.

You can't have a “civil” war unless civil structures (states, religious organizations, etc. participate). In the places they control, Republicans will fold like cheap suits.

The Bundys (God bless them), take over an empty Park Service building as a symbolic statement.

The left will take a hammer to your skull, striking from behind.

No one on the right will start the shooting and very few will return fire. It would mean killing your pastor, neighbor, local official snf family members who voted for Hilliary and to your face tell you Trump is illegitimate. You don't punch them in the fave do you, even though they most assuredly deserve it?

Unbelievable game, stunning really. Ah if only life was like football.

Time to celebrate, but there is that thing called reality that has a way of creeping back into life and screwing things up.

The Gang of 535, aka CONgre$$, will not hold criminals accountable and they certainly will not hold their own gang members accountable.

Things are so much different. You, my friend, don't realize it but you are living in the cusp of the third true revolution in human history. The fist being agriculture, the second the industrial revolution. The third is the digital age (which didn't exist in the 70’s).

This changes everything, absolutely everything.

Change is tough for most people.

We are not falling apart. We are not sinking into oblivion. We are going through the change process.

Forming-Storming-Normimg-Performing.

We’ve not even really been formed yet.

We survived the Civil War. This is a piece of cake.
