Excellent article. His second option seems the more likely, given that Republicans fund and support the left more than they oppose it. Despite Trump's leadership they have no hunger to win.

Republican politicians collect three grand a week to play hide-n-seek. They have no intention of being transformative. Empty cans making noise.

Repeal/rewrite the 17th amendment.

1. States choose in which manner they select a Senator.
2. If by election, candidates cannot accept money originating from out of state or out of country.

We wouldn’t get the McCains and Reids, or Boxers and Feinsteins and other non productive Senators or obstructionists, the disloyal and just pocket votes for somebody.

It probably seemed that way in 1970 too. But things calmed down. Hopefully this is a cycle and it will calm down now as well. Otherwise, it will be Civil War.

The soft civil war has already begun. Take away the funding and things may settle down.

Do not tell that to a certain Tom Brady and a team called the New England Patriots. Another football team surprise win.

The Gang of 535, aka CONgre$$, will not hold criminals accountable and they certainly will not hold their own gang members accountable.

Change is tough for most people.

We are not falling apart. We are not sinking into oblivion. We are going through the change process.

Forming-Storming-Normimg-Performing.

We’ve not even really been formed yet.

We survived the Civil War. This is a piece of cake.

Dumb article that ignores the elephant in the room, mass immigration that has changed the demographics of the country forever. We have tribal politics.

Since 1990 we have brought in 35 million legal permanent immigrants, 87% of whom are minorities as defined by the USG. By 2043 non-Hispanic whites will be 50% of the population down from 89% in 1970.

The media is astroturfing these riots as grassroots uprisings all around the country. They may turn out to be an organized few who travel around. I find it hard to believe that locals would destroy the shops and banks that they themselves use.

Good, although extreme analysis. The concept of no dialogue with the left is wrong. Many leftists have been converted by reason and experience. Others have been converted by the love of Jesus. This is my remaining hope.

I agree with the article. This country is irretrievably divided between left and right, and only a physical demarcation, starting with the secession of the coastal part of California, will help to mitigate that condition. Scenes of Americans being attacked in places like Berkeley give evidence to the fact that trying to maintain a 50-state entity in its present form is an impossible task.

Of course, designating Soros’ Open Societies Foundation as a terrorist organization, thus freezing its U.S. accounts, would go a long way toward settling things down. I’m sure there is credible evidence that this society is funding Antifa and other radical organizations.

But I won’t hold my breath.

I think the article is ridiculous. The Constitution was made difficult to amend to keep pols from changing it every year.

We are watching the destruction of the Demo party rather than a constitutional problem.
