Washington (CNN)The Justice Department on Saturday moved to appeal a decision that temporarily halted enforcement of President Donald Trump's travel ban. The appeal concerns a late Friday decision by a US district court that halted the enforcement of Trump's executive order. Trump's policy banned travel to the US from seven Muslim-majority countries for 90 days, suspended all refugee entry to the US for 120 days and indefinitely suspended entry for Syrian refugees. A notice of appeal was sent Saturday night to the US district court, where Judge James Robart, a George W. Bush appointee, presides in Seattle.

Okay. We lose. Why even go there. Unless Trump knows something we don’t know he fell into the trap. They went to a particular judge to go through the 9th circuit and this clown judge ruled for the total US. We accepted it and now we are in the 9th circuit trap. Are you kidding me? I thought we were smarter than this. Now we have no borders and no right to refuse anyone. This is better than electing Hillary.
Yep! Same as white Mexican too.
When the 9th circus upholds this Judge Trump should hold off appeal until we get Scalia replaced yes it sucks and puts the country at risk but he cannot send to 4-4 SC and let the 9th decide this. He should have found another way around this clown.
They probably thought they would try the appeal route first and can always defy later. I would think Trump got some expert advice on this stuff. At least I hope so.
Assume they had to file in the 9th because it has juristiction for Seattle where the idiot judge is.
Maybe that has to be the plan..give them a chance to do the right thing.. they affirm... then defy
Where’s Sessions in all of this?
Trump does not fall into traps.
He is the trap.
“I would think Trump got some expert advice on this stuff. At least I hope so.”
I don’t know looking at Trumps tweets he doesn’t seem like all is going to plan. He seems surprised. How could they not know they would find a leftist Judge that would steer it through the 9th trap? It’s exactly what l and many of you were expecting right?
Somebody at DoJ wants to keep their job.
The 9th Circus must be looking forward to this one. A tie at SCotUS is a 9th victory.
That’s the Notice of Appeal, not the Appeal itself.
The pr!ck in Kentucky who jailed Kim Davis was a GWB appointee, too.
No! It's better to appeal it, because it shows what jackasses the Dems truly are, putting 3rd world savages ahead of the American people. Also, this is long-ball politics. Remember, Trump's SCOTUS pick isn't confirmed yet nor is Sessions. It's better to hold on this for now. Trust me, Trump has the law on his side and when it rules for him.
NWO Bush trash they also helped collapse our public school system. We will have a new saying after this more liberal than GWB judge
“It’s better to hold on this for now. Trust me, Trump has the law on his side and when it rules for him”
Well yes he does but doesn’t that assume he is dealing with a court that rules based on the law. The 9th is not known for this so are you saying hold of until we are back to 5-4 on the SC?
Given the number of attorneys around this country, surely various news organizations could hire people reporting on legal issues who have a scintilla of understanding of what is actually going on.
This kind of error is juvenile and misleading. What should come next is a motion for an emergency stay, and there are some rumors that that has been filed or will be filed shortly. It would be nice to know if it has been filed.
I agree. The President's EO is on firm legal and constitutional footing. He should have ignored the judge's overreach and put his foot down, as regards his actual authority in this matter.
Appealing the ruling through the courts, as currently constituted, is a dead end, which will only result in his being nullified.
there ya go. blame randomly.
