The UAE was one of a number of Middle Eastern countries to bare the brunt of a freak weather phenomenon yesterday.
A shock snowstorm blasted through the Arab country, usually known for its blistering heat, scorched deserts and year-round sunshine.
The blizzard covered parts of the country with up to 10 centimetres of snow, according to the local Met Office.
Other Gulf States also experienced rare lightning strikes, sandstorms, rough seas and high winds of up to 90km an hour.

Must be that pesky global warming thing.
Been there, did it .... it was ugly but there ain’t nuthin a real Texan can’t (try to) ride....:o)
Allah knows best, inshallah! LOL
They should be grateful it wasn’t frogs and locusts....
How to deal with snow in the Middle East.
1. Find the tallest building that will give you the best view of traffic.
2. Enjoy the show.
The UAE doesn’t do that
It just so happens that the UAE is the location of the tallest building in the world, the Burg al Kalifa
It’s put a real damper on the Saturday night goat raping fest.
If the camel jockeys piss off Trump, unexpected snow will be the least of their concerns.
That must have been great fun for the kids, though.

Kinda looks like a Tower of Babel ziggarat.
They did until the War of Northern Aggression caused the disbanding of the Camel Corps.
" In 1855, some men went to Europe and Africa to sturdy the habits of camels in captivity. Buying 33 camels in Egypt and Turkey, they took on three Arab handlers, sailed back to Texas and began training People living near Camp Verde, Texas admired the camels; a woman sent President Franklin Pierce a pair of socks knitted "from the pile of one of our camels". When the westward expeditions started in 1856, the officers reported their camels superior to horse and mule trains. Another 41 camels were added to the corps in 1857. P. Gilmer Breckinridge of Virginia, in charge of 25 camels, inscribed his name as a caravan passed El Morro that year. "The camels are coming", read a newspaper headline when these exotic beasts pulled an express wagon into Los Angeles in December 1857. "Their approach made quite a stir among the native population, most of whom had never seen the like." The article told how camels could pull a load over a mountain where mules balked, ate cactus, and could "live well where domestic animals would die". Camp Verde fell into Confederate hands at the beginning of the Civil War, ending the camel corps."

OK, guys. Very funny. But UAE is one of our strongest allies. They openly support Trump’s travel ban. They have offered Israel to use their air space if they want to attack Iran.
I work on projects for Dubai Municipality, the agency that develops and maintains water infrastructure. My direct client is a woman, so this is an open society.
By the way, Dubai and Abu Dhabi are only 10% Emiratis. Most of the people there are expats, from Asia, Europe, US and the Philippines. It is so ecumenical that there are active Christian churches. One of the strangest things is shopping in November and December. The businessmen cater to Christians. Christmas music and decorations fill the malls, rivaling any in the US.

One of my college age grandsons wears a “Fly Emirates” tee shirt.
That was an eye opener for me.:)

Sounds like a great place to visit. Maybe the only place in the Middle East.
Until their ER’s are filled with medical emergencies and fatalities due to inspiration of snowflakes while ululating, I don’t think it’s snowing enough there.
I think God may be upset with the mussies
